The Justice Department’s top national security official resigned after it was revealed Trump’s DOJ investigated House Dems and subpoenaed communication records. According to the New York Times, the DOJ under Trump subpoenaed Apple for data from Democrat House Intelligence committee members and aides in their hunt for leakers. The DOJ also seized records from Trump’s White House counsel Don McGahn and his wife. The records were seized in 2017 and 2018 but prosecutors were unable to tie anyone to leaks. John Demers will leave his post by the end of the week, the Associated Press reported.

FBI Director Chris Wray and Assistant Attorney General John C. Demers are holding a press conference on a national security matter. The presser will be at 11 AM ET. It was important enough to send out an announcement on Tuesday night.

A former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) case officer pleaded guilty today to conspiring to communicate, deliver and transmit national defense information to the People’s Republic of China. Assistant Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers, U.S. Attorney G.
