(The opinions expressed by contributors are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of RedState.com.)My colleague Bonchie wrote Thursday evening about the suspension of journalist Aaron Rupar’s Twitter account, and already more suspensions have been handed down as the night progresses. Locked out of their accounts: bombastic critic-of-everything Keith Olbermann, New York Times technology reporter Ryan Mac, CNN reporter Donie O’Sullivan, and Mashable writer Matt Binder. Independent journalist Tony Webster’s account was also suspended as of Thursday evening, as was Intercept reporter Micah Lee’s.Keith Rn 🤣 pic.twitter.com/fmx0MUGUWF— Hodgetwins (@hodgetwins) December 16, 2022Olbermann’s toxic personality cost him his gig...

President Obama's closing argument: Don't go GOP By: Carol E. Lee October 23, 2010 05:49 PM EDT MINNEAPOLIS — President Barack Obama finished the longest campaign trip of his presidency Saturday much in the way he started: criticizing Republicans for wanting to take the country backward and trying to rally disheartened Democrats to the polls. For Democratic supporters from 2008 who are thinking about switching sides this election, Obama paraphrased Albert Einstein. “The true sign of madness is if you do the same thing over and over again and expect the same result,” he said during a rally at the...

The stakes were in full display Friday night at an outdoor rally in Las Vegas, when Obama — whose name has been chanted over the past three days by crowds at events from Seattle to Los Angeles — made a rare move and led the crowd in a chant of “Har-ry!” “I appreciate everybody saying Obama,” the president said as thousands of supporters screamed “O-bam-a!” “But I want everybody to say Harry,” Obama yelled, leading them on moments after he stood on the stage with Reid, a former boxer, holding his hand in the air as though he had won...

In an election year when good news has been scarce for Democrats, anxious party strategists are heartened by at least one development: In states that have started voting, early indications are that Democratic turnout could be stronger than expected. Despite the much-discussed "enthusiasm gap," early balloting suggests that the voter turnout engine that Barack Obama revved up in 2008 has not sputtered out entirely, according to the Atlas Project, a Democratic consulting firm that analyzed voter data. The firm told its clients Friday that early ballots in the 17 states where voting has been sufficient to draw historical comparisons show...

Rich Iott, the House Republican nominee in Ohio’s 9th district, belongs to a group that reenacts World War II battles as a Nazi SS division. Iott confirmed to The Atlantic that he has been a member of the group, called Wiking, for years but that his participation stems from his interest in history. "In fact, there's a disclaimer on the [Wiking] website,” he told The Atlantic, which first reported his membership. “And you'll find that on almost any reenactment website. It's purely historical interest in World War II." Iott is seen in photos dressed up in a Nazi military uniform....
