WASHINGTON, Jan. 17, 2006 – A suicide car bomber killed four Iraqi police officers and one child and wounded 16 civilians and two Iraqi police officers yesterday at an Iraqi police checkpoint near Muqdadiyah, Iraq, officials reported. Officials said the attack was initiated by a flurry of small-arms fire followed by the devastating blast. Coalition forces from a nearby base responded to the attack and assisted with the post-blast investigation.
