During Wednesday’s White House press briefing, ABC News’ Chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl probed Press Sec. Jay Carney over the progress of President Barack Obama’s policy aimed at addressing the threat posed by the Syrian civil war. Karl pointedly asked Carney whether it was time to acknowledge that Obama’s Syria policy has been an “absolute failure.” “Isn’t it time to acknowledge that, when it comes to easing the humanitarian crisis in Syria, that the president’s policy has been an absolute failure?” Karl asked. “I mean, you had the Director of National Intelligence tell Congress that the situation on the...

Karl Heinrich Marx is known as a German philosopher, economist and revolutionary socialist. How did the man who railed against economic and sexual exploitation treat those around him? What is the truth about Karl Marx? Based upon Paul Johnson's book, "Intellectuals." Marx was a child of his time, the mid-nineteenth century, and Marxism was a characteristic nineteenth-century philosophy in that it claimed to be scientific. 'Scientific' was Marx's strongest expression of approval, which he habitually used to distinguish himself from his many enemies. He and his work were 'scientific'; they were not. He felt he had found a scientific explanation...

".......“What do you make of some of these efforts by Obamacare supporters to reach out?” [ABC News’ Jon] Karl asked, adding “I mean, some of them — the upside-down keg stands and whatnot. I mean, is anybody going to buy health care because Barack Obreezy tells them to buy it because it’s hot?” “I think that, having not designed advertising campaigns myself, I’m not an expert,” Carney said, “but I think that people — there are efforts underway to reach potential consumers where they live, if you will, and to get them to be aware of the options available to...

I can´t quite believe that I´ve just sat through ten minutes of BBC television in which British journalists Owen Jones and Zoe Williams have defended Karl Marx as the prophet of the End of Capitalism. Unbelievable because I had thought Marxism was over with the fall of the Berlin Wall--when we discovered that socialism was one part bloodshed, one part farce. [Snip] Sixty-five million were murdered in China--starved, hounded to suicide, shot as class traitors. Twenty million in the USSR, 2 million in North Korea, 1.7 million in Africa. The nightmare of Cambodia (2 million dead) is especially vivid.

Evidence of testiness on the Democratic side of the 17% government shutdown continues to accumulate. Today, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney had a tense exchange with ABC's Jonathan Karl, who was apparently so taken aback by Carney's answer to another reporter that he interjected himself into the dialog — to correct Carney about what House Speaker John Boehner said earlier today about his openness to negotiating. Carney also announced that Americans won't have to wait to see how the nation's healthcare delivery system changes in 2014 to experience long times spent in waiting rooms (Patience, please; it will become...

In 2007 I began writing The Market Ticker due to the outrageous conduct of various branches in the Administration and portions of the Capital Markets. Endemic fraud in the financial system that had generated unbridled and outrageous credit creation threatened the collapse of our entire economic system. The consequence of this should have been thousands of indictments, prosecutions and imprisonments -- of banking executives, of members of Congress, of various executive branch officers in various agencies and more. The banking system should have been forced to match assets to liabilities and either put up the margin to back their bets or...

Karl Rove has gone from being "banned" from Fox to now seemingly owning the place. Whatever the truth may be, Conservatives must stop him now. (video)

The talking points used by Amb. Susan Rice on the Sunday shows on the weekend after the 9/11/12 terror attack in Benghazi underwent at least 12 edits – including revisions by the Obama administration’s State Department — new emails obtained by ABC News show. Those revisions included scrubbing all references to an Al Qaeda-affiliated group and all references to previous CIA warnings about a terror threat. From ABC: When it became clear last fall that the CIA’s now discredited Benghazi talking points were flawed, the White House said repeatedly the documents were put together almost entirely by the intelligence community,...

Karl Vick’s anti-Israel partisanship continues unabated on the pages and website of Time Magazine. Vick, Time’s bureau chief in Jerusalem, self-assuredly insisted in a May 29 blog post that Israel continues to occupy the Gaza Strip: Cairo after all had control of the coastal enclave from 1948 to 1967, when Gaza was among the vast territory Israel conquered in the Six Day War. And though it remains technically under Israeli occupation, Israel Defense Forces pulled out in 2005... Israel, of course, fully withdrew its soldiers and civilians from the Gaza Strip in 2005, representing a self-evident end to the occupation....

Some may have declared the issue with President Obama’s birth certificate to be “over,” but apparently potential Republican candidate for President Donald Trump didn’t receive the memo. He called into Fox News today and revealed that in his mind at least, “I think I’ve made my decision,” as he prepares multiple visits to the primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. In addition to repeating his claims that President Obama is a “disaster,” he also threw some salt in the eyes of conservative heavy-hitters like Republican Congressman Paul Ryan and Karl Rove.

I had somewhat-high hopes. Unfortunately, they remain unrealized. From the WSJ's Opinion Page (authored by Mr. Ryan, and as a public figure, speaking to the public, it's fair game to be analyzed in full):

Ingraham: "Is anyone going to run as a Bush Republican in 2012 and if so who?" Rove: "Every one of them is going to run as a Bush Republican by saying 'I want to continue to fight the war on terror' -- with maybe one or two exceptions -- and, 'I want to continue the Bush tax cuts Video at link.

GOP consultant Karl Rove got directly involved Friday in Hawaii's hotly contested Congressional race between Republican incumbent Rep. Charles Djou and Democrat Colleen Hanabusa. Rove's group American Crossroads started running an ad on Hawaii television stations Friday critical of Hanabusa. The TV commercial says, "There are problems in paradise, and Colleen Hanabusa would make things worse. Hanabusa supports Nancy Pelosi's tsunami of spending. She defends the trillion dollar health care takeover that raises our costs and cuts Medicare by over $500 billion. She has said she will support the cap and trade energy tax that will raise the cost of...

An aggressive conservative group linked to former George W. Bush strategist Karl Rove is launching a get-out-the-vote blitz in West Virginia to help Republican John Raese in his bid for U.S. Senate. The group, American Crossroads, says the effort will be extensive and will use enhanced voter files and data on early and absentee voting patterns to target Republican and independent voters with mailers and phone calls. The Mountain State is the ninth where American Crossroads is investing. The others are Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire and Washington.

VERACRUZ, Mexico – Hurricane Karl smashed into Mexico's Gulf Coast on Friday, killing at least two people and forcing the country to shut down its only nuclear power plant and its central Gulf Coast oil platforms. As the storm pushed inland, a landslide buried a house in the town of Nexticapan, killing a 61-year-old woman and a 2-year-old girl and injuring two other people, said Aru Becerra, a spokeswoman for Civil Protection in Puebla state.

Last night I watched Karl Rove drive the final nails into his political coffin, as he double-downed his attacks against Christine O’Donnell, on Greta Van Susteren’s show “On The Record.” It may be awhile before the “funeral” takes place, but the coffin is finished, no doubt. The night before I had watched as Rove began his public self-immolation, on The Sean Hannity Show. Hannity, to his credit, defended O’Donnell against Rove’s surprising (to me, at least) and graceless attack, after her win against Power Elite insider, Mike Castle, in the Delaware Republican primary. (Kudos to Sean Hannity for standing up...

While so many are dumping on Rove, I say strike while the iron is hot because just like McCain, all of the sudden he is trying to crown himself the father of the Tea Party movement, illegal immigration hawk... I remember writing here in May about how Karl Rove had just on O’Reily trying to escape blame for he and W’s incompetence on illegal immigration. He was trying to BLAME the problem on "eight states" for "rejecting the BIOMETRIC ID cards”. Dear God this party really needs a purging. We need to forget these people and they need to retire.
