There is a problem with being able to access eBay this morning. While using multiple client computers, operating systems, and browsers, the normal eBay webpages are abruptly replaced by a Webpage that appears to be eBay in Chinese characters. After this Chinese language page appears, the next webpages indicate access is forbidden or otherwise denied, depending upon the browser being used. eBay is looking into the problem. I'm wondering whether or not anyone else can see the same problems with being denied access one time, gain access another time, and lose access again with the Chinese language webpage/s showing up...

I am using the same ipad I always use. I've almost never needed to log in. Now I need to log in each time I arrive. Not fun. I can't find anything that keeps you logged in. The thing marked extra convenient claims to, but it doesn't. Been a donating Freeper for 13 years, never seen a moose, and I have showered recently. And I am logged in. But sick of logging in!

UPDATE: Why Govt. Source leaked PRISMAdditional information is being reported that confirms what most of us have always suspected. NSA is collecting all our email data, tracking our movements, our photographs, our documents, etc. Also factor in the fact that a court recently ruled that Obama is free to collect our DNA without being found guilty of any crime. National Security Agency (NSA) building designed for massive data collection in Utah:WaPo reports the following:The National Security Agency and the FBI are tapping directly into the central servers of nine leading U.S. Internet companies, extracting audio, video, photographs, e-mails, documents and connection...

I've been using the Windows Live Mail Beta for about a week now. Today, I've been trying for a couple hours but cannot login. The response is, "Server Too Busy -- We are experiencing higher than normal volume and are therefore unable to service your request at this time." Mrs. Newgeezer, at home, is able to login to her Hotmail account. So, I figure it's either a problem affecting only certain Hotmail servers OR it's something at my work location.
  • Federal judge rejects Bush plan to log in Sequoia forest

SAN FRANCISCO - A federal judge ruled Tuesday that a Bush administration plan to allow commercial logging in the Giant Sequoia National Monument violates environmental laws. U.S. District Court Judge Charles R. Breyer sided with environmental groups that sued the U.S. Forest Service over plans to manage the 328,000-acre preserve, home to two-thirds of the world's largest trees. In the lawsuit filed last year, the Sierra Club and other conservation groups said the forest management plan was a scientifically suspect strategy meant to satisfy timber interests under the guise of wildfire prevention. In September last year, Breyer issued a preliminary...

  • ISP's Intrusion Protection not allowing login to FR

After many months of not being able to login to FR from my west Texas server, everything now seems to be okay. For many months, whenever I typed in my user name and password at FR and clicked on the "Log In" button, I got only a "dead" response from the server. After trying MANY things, i.e., reformatting, changing my op system, and even changing PCs, I finally wrote to my ISP asking if they had the FR site blocked. After checking, my ISP decided the problem was their "Intrusion Detection" (software?) which was blocking perl script access. The problem...

OK, ladies and gents, I just figured my last year's screed on this was such a huge hit (37 whole responses! Woo-hoo!) that I just had to come back for an encore. But this time we have a new twist: Instead of that blue writing at the top of the page where all the threads are listed, I'm getting the notice right when I log on - you know, the one with that says "Welcome back, [whoever you are]!" and underneath it is the rectangle in the middle of the page informing you that someone has posted something new to...

Here's a possible solution for those who've received a message similar to "Your browser did not accept our Focus cookie" while attempting to log in. Received this the other day from someone who solved the problem (at least solved it in his case): Hello Jim, I just wanted to let you know that I did solve the login/cookie problem. Somehow, FreeRepublic.com got added to IE's internal list of "Restricted Zone" Web sites on my computer. So even though my IE Privacy Settings were set to accept the FreeRepublic.com cookies, IE was still rejecting them (it appears that Zone settings take...

Where's the "log off" button? I used to log out. Or off. I thought it was polite, and it cleared my cookie.
