CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that MAGA Republicans who were “unhappy” former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election were dragging down American democracy. Anchor Margaret Brennan asked, “How dangerous is the moment that we are in? Garrett said, “It feels more dangerous, Margaret than any I’ve encountered in covering politics at the national level since 1990. David and I had to write this book, but we wish we didn’t have to. Stating what clearly happened in 2020, it wasn’t a fraudulent election. No crime was committed. That doesn’t mean you...

A new Gallup poll indicates that satisfaction with race relations and the position of minorities in America have significantly increased since President Trump took office. The findings deliver a significant blow to the media-driven fiction that Trump is a racist. Gallup’s survey demonstrates numerous categories in which the President has improved the lives of Americans since relieving Barack Obama of his duties in January of 2017. The polling indicates double-digit improvements in how Americans view the nation’s economy, security from terrorism, military strength and … the state of race relations. Gallup also reports increases in “the position of blacks and...

**SNIP** Democrats have the logic of the impeachment completely backwards. They won’t lose because they pursued impeachment and failed. Princeton historian Kevin Kruse is right: Donald Trump isn’t Bill Clinton and Bob Mueller isn’t Ken Starr. Instead, they’ll lose because they failed to pursue impeachment. The reason is that the American public already believes that Democrats are too risk-averse and too rational; that they don’t lead from the heart, even when they genuinely care about doing the right thing. Whether recalling President Obama’s mantra to “not do stupid sh**” in foreign policy (i.e., better to err on the side of...

CBS White House correspondent Major Garrett doesn’t buy the portrayal of President Trump as an enemy of the media and a chief executive who has eliminated access for journalists. “He loves us, and he hates us, and he loves us,” he said with a laugh. “There is more access to this president than there was to Obama. We see him all the time. He takes questions a lot,” Garrett said. “We see him and interact with him and punch in questions with far more frequency than with Obama. Probably more so than for W. Bush,” he added. Much more a...

I'm not usually one to hone in on someone's personal failings, or to hector people for their sins, but considering these slime-balls in the press insist upon their own virtue, all I have to say is "WTF?" Here we have an obvious alcoholic passing judgment on President Trump, who, AFAIK, is a teetotaler, while heavily intoxicated. Am I the only one troubled by this? Watch the entire video. I haven't seen Mr. Garrett this discomfited since Donald Trump clowned him while honoring our veterans during his presidential campaign.

On Wednesday night, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News remained aboard the proverbial liberal media party bus pushing Congress to impeach President Trump and delay or thwart Brett Kavanaugh from reaching the Supreme Court following Tuesday’s bad Trump headlines involving Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort. NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt told viewers amidst their extensive Trump coverage that just because “the Special Counsel has yet to†prove Trump-Russia collusion “does not mean prosecutors exposed criminality in the President’s universe†and quipped that White House correspondent Kristen Welker had a look at “a look at all the President's...

All three networks on Tuesday worried about Donald Trump’s “lack of curiosity” in the wake of a “startling” new climate change report. After discussing a draft report leaked to the New York Times, Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos sneered, “No word yet on whether they will suppress, dismiss, or endorse the report.” On CBS This Morning, Major Garrett offered a lecture: “The lack of comment from officials here and from those at some of the relevant federal agencies about this report's startling conclusions suggest not just skepticism but, at least initially, a lack of curiosity.” CBS Freaks Over Climate Study,...

CBS White House correspondent Major Garrett wrote an op-ed for Sunday’s Washington Post imploring journalists not to skip the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The headline was "Skipping 'nerd prom' now would prove Trump right" -- that journalists hate him too strongly to sit through a dinner with him. Garrett also pushed back against the Post’s own Margaret Sullivan, who argued that it would be appropriate to cancel the event altogether because the press should not be Mr. Trump’s “prom date.†"But no self-respecting White House reporter has ever been a president’s prom date, and the dinner isn’t a date at...

On Wednesday Barack Obama lashed out at CBS reporter Major Garrett after he asked him about the four Americans left behind to languish in Iranian prisons. ... The Obama administration did nothing to free American hostages during their talks with the Iranian regime. ... Now we know… Obama released a top Iranian scientist as part of the deal but left the Americans to rot in hell in Iranian prisons. ... No wonder he didn’t want reporters talking about it!

http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/blog/?p=34138 Barack Obama smirked and laughed as a reporter at his Wednesday briefing after getting a critical question about the nuclear deal with Iran. CBS News’s Major Garrett pressed the president on the imprisonment of Americans in Iran. “As you well know, there are four Americans in Iran—three held on trumped-up charges, according to your administration, one whereabouts unknown. Can you tell the country, sir, why you are content, with all the fanfare around this deal, to leave the conscience of this nation, this strength of this nation, unaccounted for in relation to these four Americans?” Garrett asked. “I’ve gotta...

Major Garrett overstepped by wondering why Obama didn’t at least ask the ayatollahs to free imprisoned Americans as a token concession before granting them $150 billion in unfrozen assets and a pathway to nuclear weaponry. The flying monkeys have been dispatched to chastise him: Liberal HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher took offense to a CBS White House reporter who on Wednesday admitted to intentionally provoking President Obama with a question about Iran. “Major Garrett is a huge a–hole,” Maher wrote late Wednesday in a message to his 3 million-plus followers on Twitter. Maher suggested Garrett’s interaction with the president...

President Obama, obviously very annoyed at a reporter's question about the just-signed deal with Iran; today showed that he is not afraid to exert his role at Commander in Chief. The White House today announced that suitable disciplinary measures would be taken against the the offender, Major Garrett.

Maybe this was more of a Rorschach test than first thought. When a reporter asks a tough question of a president, many of the people who get upset at the “tone†and who cheer for the reporter switch sides when the party affiliation of the President changes. So far, though, only Bill Maher has managed to toss race in as an issue with Major Garrett’s sharp exchange with Barack Obama yesterday: #MajorGarrett is a huge asshole. If U wanna "strike a nerve" with POTUS, why not just scream the N word? That shld get his attention.— Bill Maher (@billmaher) July...

How does it feel to get rebuked by the President of the United States on national television for asking a tough question? While some of Major Garrett’s colleagues in the media wagged their fingers at the framing of his question, the CBS White House correspondent doesn’t seem to be losing sleep over it. “Clearly, it struck a nerve,†Garrett tells Contessa Brewer. “That was my intention.†CLICK ABOVE LINK FOR THE VIDEO... “Clearly it struck a nerve,” Garrett told CBS anchor Contessa Brewer. “That was my intention. Because everyone who works for the president, and the families of those...

Wednesday during his post-election press conference CBS News' chief White House correspondent Major Garrett took on President Barack Obama over his insistence he will can only accept the senate version of immigration bill or go ahead with his executive amnesty. Garret pressed the president several times during the nine minute exchange to answer his initial question of, "Let me go back to immigration. Moments before you walked out here, sir, Mitch McConnell said, and I quote, that if you, in fact, use your executive authority to legalize a certain number of millions of undocumented workers, it would poison the well,...

White House, senior administration officials hold a briefing on the U.S. government’s response to the Ebola epidemic. At the end of the briefing not knowing his microphone is switched on, Major Garrett can be heard saying to two other White House officials, “We are screwed!” He then goes on to say… “I am feeling a little fluey, give me kiss.”

CBS journalist Major Garrett grilled Barack Obama at a White House news conference, Thursday. On the subject of ObamaCare's disastrous rollout, the reporter repeatedly zeroed in on what the President knew and when: "You said after the law was implemented or signed, if like your plan, you can keep it. Americans believed you, sir, when you said that to them over and over."[See video below. MP3 audio here.] Garrett pushed, "Do you not believe, sir, the American people deserve a deeper, more transparent accountability from you as to why you said it over and over and when your own statistics,...
