MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A man accused of drunken driving tried to outrun the police but his vehicle wasn't up to the task. Michael Ginevan of Bunker Hill was driving a riding lawnmower on Runnymeade Road about a mile from his home when a Berkeley County sheriff's deputy attempted to pull him over. Ginevan, 39, allegedly sped away and Deputy J.H. Jenkins stopped his cruiser and gave chase on foot, according to magistrate court records. Police closed down a section of West Burke Street and surrounded a large apartment building Thursday after an older woman inside fired several shots from a shotgun, according to officers with the Martinsburg Police Department. The woman, Alice Sajovic, eventually agreed to turn herself in after speaking with police, including a phone conversation with Martinsburg Police Department Chief Ted Anderson. MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) — A woman faces two counts of kidnapping after allegedly paying two boys for a lawn job with a fake $50 bill, then holding them hostage when they caught on. Martinsburg Patrolman E.C. Neely said Wednesday the victims were two slightly built boys, ages 12 and 13, who told investigators they were terrorized by Clinton. She allegedly screamed at them, threatened physical violence and exhibited bizarre behavior that included publicly urinating on a fence.
