A 34-year-old San Diego man put the hammer down on crime last night. Just before 8 p.m., the man got into his car on National Avenue near 35th Street and would have been on his way except another man in his 20s tried to carjack him, attempting to pull the victim out of the driver's seat, according to San Diego police.
