On September 25, the 23rd Arab-American Candidates’ Night Dinner was held in Virginia, attended by 46 Democrats and Republicans seeking office, with former governor and current Democratic Senate candidate, Tim Kaine, as a major speaker. The dinner honored a top Muslim Brotherhood official affiliated with Hamas named Jamal Barzinji, an inconvenient and overlooked fact for Kaine’s campaign team. Tim Kaine was the governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010 and then was the chairman of the Democratic National Committee. He was on the short-list to become President Obama’s running mate. He is now running for Senate and will likely face...

Hillary Clinton to Heckler Mentioning Juanita Broaddrick: 'You Are Very Rude,' 'I'm Not Ever Gonna Call on You'. Hillary Clinton dismissed a heckler Sunday during a town hall in Derry, New Hampshire, calling the woman "very rude" and promising never to answer her questions-which concerned Juanita Broaddrick and her allegations of sexual assault from Clinton's husband Bill.

Congressional Democrats are trying to build support for an effort to bar gun purchases by terror suspects, hoping to take advantage of the same public anxieties about security that gave Republicans a ringing House victory. The Democratic push seems likely to fall victim to opposition from the National Rifle Association and congressional gun-rights backers, chiefly Republicans, who have smothered firearms curbs for years. If the Republicans who control Congress block votes on the proposal, Democrats hope to profit politically by winning sympathy from angry voters. ...

Since 2011, when the Syrian crisis begun, gradually developing into a civil war (nurtured by internal as well as external forces) the number of dead is estimated around 220,000. It is important to clarify that there is no way to ascertain that number. The UN ceased publishing their own estimates by 2014 as there was no way to verify the actual numbers. Most Syrians have already been displaced two or three times since, in the beginning they sought protection in houses of relatives and friends in neighboring cities which were considered safe. The number of internally displaced people in Syria...

An Egyptian court released a detailed ruling on Sunday on why it sentenced three journalists working for al-Jazeera English to three years in prison for airing what it described as “false news” and biased coverage. The case has long been criticised by press freedom campaigners and others. The ruling, published by the state news agency Mena, said Mohamed Fahmy, a Canadian national, Peter Greste, an Australian journalist, and BaherMohamed, an Egyptian producer, were by default members of the banned Muslim Brotherhood group, which Egyptian authorities consider a terrorist organisation. “It has been proven beyond reasonable doubt that the al-Jazeera media...

The federal government is considering allowing those of Middle Eastern and North African descent to identify as such on the next 10-year census, which could give Arab-Americans and other affected groups greater political clout and access to public funding, among other things. The U.S. Census Bureau will test the new Middle East-North Africa (MENA) classification for possible inclusion on the 2020 census if it gets enough positive feedback about the proposed change by Sunday, when the public comment period ends. Arab-Americans, who make up the majority of those who would be covered by the MENA classification, have previously been classified...

Veteran journalist and author, James Howard Kunstler, is worried about the violence heating up in the Middle East–especially Saudi Arabia. Kunstler says, “Saudi Arabia is between a rock and a hard place, or should I say Iraq and a hard place. Both sides that are now contending in Iraq, the Shiite and the Islamic State or caliphate, are both not friendly with Saudi Arabia. When we talk about Saudi Arabia, we have to make a distinction. We are really talking about the Saud Family and their Kingdom and their gripe on the Kingdom. . . . Now, they are stuck...

An audio produced by the group's media arm, the al-Malahem Foundation, and posted on militant websites said it offered three kilograms of gold worth $160,000 (£99,000) for killing the ambassador, Gerald Feierstein. The group said it will pay 5 million Yemeni riyals (£14,000) to anyone who kills an American soldier inside Yemen. It said the offer is valid for six months. The bounties were set to "inspire and encourage our Muslim nation for jihad," the statement said.

CAIRO (AP) — The Egyptian pound fell to a record low against the dollar Sunday as the central bank stepped into the market to try to stabilize trading and stop an anxious public that has been buying up dollars for fear of an even bigger dive in the local currency, bankers said. The pound slid more than 3 percent on the first trading day after the central bank introduced a new dollar auction system that bankers said appeared designed to allow a "controlled devaluation" of the Egyptian pound. Many economists consider the pound overvalued and propped up by the government,...

Obama going after oil speculators while holding fund raisers with the criminals who brought down the financial system. That was a cute move by President Obama last week, calling out the “oil speculators” with a memo to his Attorney General, Eric Holder. The President proved a few weeks ago, in his energy speech to the nation, he doesn’t understand how these resources are produced and traded. Consequently, the people he addressed remain clueless, but ticked off nonetheless. And the logic of politics now compels Mr. Obama to call out the dogs on… people who make money trading paper claims on...

GUATEMALA CITY -- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said the U.S. is "part of the problem" in Central America's worsening drug trade, and is working to reduce demand at home while assisting neighbors in their fight against traffickers. "The United States under the Obama administration recognizes and accepts its share of responsibilities for the problems posed by drug trafficking in this region," Mrs. Clinton said today at a news conference at the Presidential Palace in Guatemala City, before meeting with regional presidents. "That's an admission that we have been willing to make this past year," she said, adding the...

For some weird, unknown reason in the middle of the night I was awakened with a vivid flashback dream. The dream was a recollection of all the time we early Freepers spent on the Prodigy Whitewater Bulletin Board, discussing Clinton and his unfolding horrible presidency. Somebody told us about a book written by Terry Reed, a Viet Nam vet and how he and a cast of now famous names wound up all twisted in the Arkansas of then Gov. Bill Clinton. The long and detailed book opened up many of our eyes about where Clinton and G. H. W. Bush...

First came chief strategist Mark Penn's "reassignment" following the embarrassing revelation of his side job advising the Colombian government on how to promote a trade agreement loudly decried by the candidate whose campaign has so far paid him and his firm $10,800,000 for his input. Then came word that Clinton campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson also has financial ties to Colombia via his involvement the Glover Park Group, company founded by Clinton administration alum Joe Lockhart that has also been advising the Colombian government. And, of course, there is the Whitman sampler of Colombian goodies gobbled up by Bill Clinton, including:...

CROSSFIRE: Witness in the Clinton Investigation NOTE: Several years ago, I helped L.D. Brown with a book tour in Southern California. He was there to see the whole sordid mess of the Clintons and was trooper bodyguard for Bill for six years. L.D. never saw Bill use cocaine, because he would never put up with that in his presence. But he knew Bill used it. Some have wondered why George Bush has not pursued the crimes of the Clintons. I believe it goes back to the days of Mena, Arkansas, where large shipments of cocaine were being delivered by Barry...

Just when every poll has Hillary slipping, she has gotten a shot in the arm from a very unlikely source: President George W. Bush. In an interview on Tuesday featuring the first couple and Charles Gibson, the president said of Mrs. Clinton "No question, there is no question that Sen. Clinton understands pressure better than any of the candidates, you know, in the race because she lived in the White House and sees it first — could see it first-hand." By saying that she “understands the klieg lights,” Bush lent credence to Hillary’s campaign assertion that she could “hit the...
