Former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke joined the chorus of Democrats and Republicans criticizing President Donald Trump for his renewed attacks on the late Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain. Trump has sharply criticized McCain in recent days for his decision to turn over the unverified Steele dossier to the FBI in 2016 — as well as his decisive vote against a bill to repeal Obamacare in 2017. Trump said of the Senate icon, “I was never a fan of John McCain and I never will be.”

Arizona dove season starts on 1 September. This year, 2018, I took a new dove hunter out on on opening day. My policy is to introduce new hunters to hunting as often as I have opportunities presented. Jesse had fired a few shots with a .22 rifle before; but had never fired a shotgun at a moving target. He had to learn nearly everything from scratch. Jesse understood basic gun safety. I reinforced the four basic safety rules. I told him while actually hunting for dove, to have his finger on the safety of the old Remington 20 gauge...

Abner Mikva, a liberal stalwart from Illinois who served in all three branches of the federal government, mentored a young Barack Obama and famously learned firsthand the brazen nature of Chicago’s political machine, has died. The 90-year-old died of bladder cancer Monday at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Steven Cohen, who is married to Mikva’s oldest of three daughters, told The Associated Press. Mikva worked his way up from a welfare-recipient family to the Illinois House, U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Court of Appeals’ bench and later the White House as an adviser to President Bill Clinton. But...

Joe with first hunt bagIntroducing young people to the traditions of hunting is important for members of the gun culture. Hunting is a rewarding activity that teaches significant lessons about reality, responsibility, and ethics. It is a life changing activity that requires considerable thought, judgement, moral decisions, and actions. Joe's father has some medical problems, and had not been hunting for five years. Joe had accompanied his father on a previous dove hunt, but had never shot at live targets before. He had shot a shotgun one time before this, at a stationary target. Joe is 16 years old.I was more...

Paul Kengor's book, "The Communist" about Obama's mentor Frank Marshall Davis is out in bookstores today. The book is published by Glenn Beck's emporium. There have been other FR articles about Kengor's book, but none of them have this link to his 3 minute video about the book. It's worth a quick look. Obama's speeches are parrot repetitions of Davis's communist orations. Davis thought that monopolies like GM needed to be controlled by the government. He hated big business and the "tentacled" rich men who ran them. He felt all Americans had the right to a "decent home." He wanted...

It's interesting that not only does Barack Obama need continued vetting, but so do his biographers. The culprit is the same: the liberal bias that dutifully protects Obama like white knights guarding the king's castle **snip** For the record, Frank Marshall Davis was introduced to Obama by Obama's grandfather, Stanley Dunham. Dunham introduced his grandson to Davis in the 1970s -- by one (authoritative) account as early as 1970. He did so for the purpose of mentoring. And what a mentor he chose: Davis had been a literal card-carrying member of Communist Party USA (CPUSA). **snip** The liberal Obama biographers...

Many years ago, I learned of an episode in the life of a promising young black man that is relevant to things happening now. He had been educated at a good school, and went on to receive degrees at good colleges and universities. Then he went for a Ph.D. in mathematics at one of the leading departments in that field. When he encountered difficulties, his professors essentially wrote his doctoral thesis for him. No doubt they felt good about doing something to help a promising young black man, and perhaps took pride in doing so. But what about his pride?...

"MENTOR, Ohio – Sladjana Vidovic's body lay in an open casket, dressed in the sparkly pink dress she had planned to wear to the prom. Days earlier, she had tied one end of a rope around her neck and the other around a bed post before jumping out her bedroom window. The 16-year-old's last words, scribbled in English and her native Croatian, told of her daily torment at Mentor High School, where students mocked her accent, taunted her with insults like "Slutty Jana" and threw food at her.".....
