Direct conflict between Israeli and Iranian forces is increasingly likely in Syria as Tehran pursues a permanent military presence there, US Secretary of Defense James Mattis warned on Thursday. Addressing a congressional panel before hosting his Israeli counterpart, Avigdor Liberman, at the Pentagon, Mattis said it was “very likely” from his perspective, “because Iran continues to do its proxy work there through Hezbollah.” Receiving Liberman, Mattis told reporters that he saw no reason for Iran to ship advanced missiles to Hezbollah through Syria except to threaten Israel. “I can see how it might start, but I am not sure when...

70 years ago this week, Israel regained her statehood. And from that moment, the plot to destroy her has been in full motion on multiple fronts. Likewise, here in America, explosive charges have been set under the core pillars of our Christian beliefs. From undermining marriage, to socializing education, from banning First Amendment free speech if it doesn't agree with the PC rhetoric, to removing to enumerated rights found in the 2nd Amendment intended to protect the rights of the First, the lot has been cast for the total destruction of society as we know it, in order to reunite...

The dominant narrative of modern Middle East history emphasizes European colonization and accepts as a truism that the former colonial powers prioritized the protection of their material interests—in oil, above all—above the dignity and self-determination of the region’s inhabitants. --Thus did botched decolonization result in endless instability...Thus did the region become a breeding ground for radicalism, intensified by Cold War rivalry between the superpowers, who replaced the European colonizers as the region’s meddling overlords...Then came Mikhail Gorbachev—a Westernizing reformer. At last, the Cold War was over. A new world order was at hand. What if this conventional wisdom is nonsense?...

The highest-ranking intelligence officer ever to defect from the Eastern Bloc says the Soviet Union orchestrated an anti-American and anti-Israeli propaganda campaign in the Middle East four decades ago -- and the effects of the effort still reverberate. The Middle East was a key battlefield in the Cold War, and Moscow spent considerable resources courting Arab states in the region and vocally backing the Palestinian cause. Humiliated by the defeat of the Soviet-backed Arab states in their 1967 war against Israel, Yuri Andropov devised the operation to discredit the Jewish state and present Zionism as "Nazi-style racism" while at the...

A former Minneapolis FBI agent has been charged after allegedly leaking secret documents to a national news reporter, according to federal criminal charges filed in Minnesota this week. The charges, filed by prosecutors for the Justice Department’s National Security Division, are the first to come in Minnesota since Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a broad crackdown on government leaks last year. A two-page felony information, a charging document that typically signals an imminent guilty plea, outlines two counts filed against Terry J. Albury of unlawfully disclosing and retaining national defense information. Albury is accused of sharing a document on assessing...

For his return after a 3 week whirlwind tour in California where a lot of things were going on, John's message this week concentrates mostly on Israel, Syria and the Middle East where "A Lot is Going On." From Israel finally admitting that they took out the Syrian nuclear reactor over 10 years ago, to the rapid progression of Turkey into an enemy of Israel and NATO, John looks at the latest issues that are coming to the forefront of this week's prophetic outlook. Oh, yeah..and he briefly mentions the new "Youth Movement" headed up by the foul-mouthed David Hogg,...

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said Thursday it would be ‘‘really insane’’ for him to trade classified information with presidential son-in-law and White House adviser Jared Kushner, or try to use Kushner to promote Saudi aims within the Trump administration. Having that kind of relationship ‘‘will not help us’’ and does not exist, he said. Speaking in a meeting with Washington Post editors and reporters, Mohammed denied U.S. media reports that he had claimed Kushner was ‘‘in his pocket,’’ or that he had sought or received a green light from Kushner, when the two met in Riyadh in October,...

The Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit urged Guatemala to cancel its decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem on Thursday, according to the official Palestinian Authority news site Wafa. In an urgent letter to Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales, Aboul-Gheit expressed his dissatisfaction with the president's decision to relocate its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Spokesman for the Secretary-General Mahmoud Afifi said in a statement. Guatemala was one of a handful of countries that backed a UN vote on US President Donald Trump's December 6 recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. "....what Russia and Iran and what Syria have done recently is a humanitarian disgrace. I will tell you that. We're there for one reason, we're there to get ISIS and get rid of ISIS and go home. We're not there for any other reason and we've largely accomplished our goal. But what those three counties have done to people over the last short period of time is a disgrace..." President Donald J. Trump joint news conference with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull 2/23/2018 Speaking late Friday in Washington, President Trump took aim at Syria's government and nations allied with it...

Today I reported on the refusal of CNN International (CNNi) to broadcast an award-winning documentary, "iRevolution", that was produced in early 2011 as the Arab Spring engulfed the region and which was highly critical of the regime in Bahrain. The documentary, featuring CNN's on-air correspondent Amber Lyon, viscerally documented the brutality and violence the regime was using against its own citizens who were peacefully protesting for democracy. Commenting on why the documentary did not air on CNNi, CNN's spokesman cited "purely editorial reasons".

The Middle East, and therefore the world, is caught in a quagmire and the faultlines are trembling. The Big Question: What do you do about Israel, specifically her capital, Jerusalem? Join us as our special guest, Brian Schrauger of "The Chaim Report" (jerusalemjournal.net) and FBC's own John Haller discuss the rapidly changing landscape in Jerusalem. With the world gathering her forces on Israel's northern border and Israel boldly proclaiming that she will not hesitate to protect herself, we may be on the fringe of an Arch Duke of Ferdinand type moment that could trigger a global conflict. The tremors are...

President Donald Trump questioned Israel’s interest in making peace with the Palestinians in an interview published Sunday, spotlighting its West Bank settlements as a complicating factor. In the interview in the Israel Hayom daily, Trump also cast doubt on the Palestinians’ desire to strike a deal. But his comments about Israel mark rare criticism from a president who has publicly sparred with the Palestinians while forging warm ties with Israel ahead of the expected presentation of a US peace outline. “Right now, I would say the Palestinians are not looking to make peace, they are not looking to make peace....

Toppled dictator Saddam Hussein's exiled daughter is among dozens named on Iraq's "most wanted" list of people accused of supporting acts of terror. Those on the list are wanted for belonging to or having an affiliation with ISIL, Al Qaeda or Saddam's Baath Party regime. Raghad Saddam Hussein responded on Monday by pledging to take legal action against those who have "insulted her". Iraq's government has been seeking to prosecute Ms Hussein since 2006 for allegedly supporting violence in the country. The list echoes the US set of 55 playing cards, released in 2003, that depicted the most wanted members...

As the world focuses on the now infamous "FISA memo" which has seemingly confirmed "collusion" except that it was done by the Democratic Party, God's prophetic time clock continues to tick. As Jared Kushner continues to work behind the scenes to negotiate a long-lasting Middle East peace plan, Israel continues to prepare for a multi-front assault from multiple players in the region, whose sole purpose is to eradicate and destroy her as a nation and as a people. For the Christian who has read the end of the book, we know that God's chosen people will prevail. But to a...
