Glenn Beck said today that he has spoken to military experts about the mystery contrail from a few weeks ago and he says it’s definitely not a plane, but rather a two stage missile. He just wants to know where it came from, and he has a theory. Beck postulates that this missile was possibly from a Chinese sub off the coast of California, perhaps as a show of force to the world, but even more so to President Obama.

RAW VIDEO: Mysterious Contrail Off Calif. November 9, 2010 5:29 PM <SNIP> Video posted on the CBS Los Angeles website shows an object flying through the evening sky Monday that left a large contrail, or vapor trail. While cruising the skies Monday at sunset, Sky2 captured on video what appears to be a missile making its way up into the sky from over the Pacific Ocean off the California coast. Pentagon officials were stumped by the event. “Nobody within the Department of Defense that we’ve reached out to has been able to explain what this contrail is, where it came from,”...

It was US Airways flight 808 Or was it? New evidence points to UPS902 One of my commenters below has given me some critical information that has lead me to update my assessment of what flight caused the "mystery missile" contrail. Make no mistake, I stand by my assertion that the event was nothing more than a contrail, however, new, solid data has come in that has me changing my theory that the contrail in question was not caused by US Airways flight 808 (AWE808) but rather my second contender, United Parcel Service flight 902 (UPS902). In fact I believe...

Just spoke with old friend, very senior retired USN skipper. Says his contacts, many of whom were his "boys," are concerned with how stupid the MSM and Americans are and at how the Internet has fueled rampant ignorance. As I was calling him, he was calling me to call my military and IC friends to have a laugh and share some scotch to ease our aching heads.

When an impressive contrail was spotted off the California coast last week, it sparked widespread reports of a mystery missile launch in the area – a theory the Pentagon squashed after initial investigations. But, the odd contrail fooled more than the public and media, and was even seen from space. After watching footage of the Nov. 8 contrail, Patrick Minnis, a contrail expert in the Science Directorate at NASA's Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., assumed it came from a missile, as many others did. He even said so in response to a phone call from a reporter.

Hannity was surprised to hear a famous ex Air Force General tell him “That Is A Missile, Shot From A Submarine!” I quote retired Air Force Lieutenant General Tom McInerney (ex commander of 11th Air Force in Alaska) “I spent 35 years flying fighters, and you can see the guidance system kick in, I have watched that film 10 times, I am absolutely certain that that is not an aircraft, but a sub launch ICBM missile!!!” See the video and judge his words for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LivRJOWrcpA&feature=player_embedded#! A report posted today at a CNN website claims the "mystery missile launch" on Monday was actually a Chinese missile test. According to the report: China flexed its military muscle Monday evening in the skies west of Los Angeles when a Chinese Navy Jin class ballistic missile nuclear submarine, deployed secretly from its underground home base on the south coast of Hainan island, launched an intercontinental ballistic missile from international waters off the southern California coast. WMR’s intelligence sources in Asia, including Japan, say the belief by the military commands in Asia and the intelligence services is that the Chinese...

When KCBS aired the news helicopter footage of a mystery missile launch last Monday off the coast of southern California the ‘expert’ most quoted by the press, GlobalSecurities.org Director John Pike. It was Pike’s ‘optical illusion’ which got the most press. Another quote from Pike which got far less press, this statement from Pike during the 36 hour time period the DOD took to come up with the ‘most likely an aircraft’ explanation: Pike said he didn’t understand why the military had not recognized the contrail of an aircraft. “The Air Force must … understand how contrails are formed,” he...

My rant: "This is not an airplane, You can tell from the plume. In 40 years I never saw a jet fighter create that kind of plume" says the retired three star Lieutenant General Tom McInerney. And I agree with him. "I am absolutely certain that that is not an aircraft."

California Contrail Explained - Not Missile After having about 10 experienced pilots and another 20 of us who are accustomed to watching missile launches from Cape Canaveral review tape, we have most probable answer for the mysterious California contrail. Tape was also reviewed by senior official at NGA. It is not a missile. It is the contrail of a airliner at altitude moving toward the camera, at an angle of about 30 degrees off center to the right. Retired TRANSPAC airline pilots and USAF types said it was a rather common sight to see as they are climbing out over...

Military officials remain stumped about the mysterious projectile spotted in the sky off the Southern California coast, but aerospace experts said it appeared to be an errant missile launch. Pentagon officials are looking into what they have called an "unexplained contrail" after a KCBS news helicopter shot video late Monday of a luminous point hurtling through the sky followed by a long vapor trail. SNIP The lack of explanation from the Pentagon makes Caceres believe it may have been a mistake -- perhaps a defense exercise launched by accident.

There's not much that's definite in the one video we've been seeing about the 'mystery missile launch'. What's shown there could be an ordinary contrail, hyped by the station to draw traffic. But there must have been at least a few West Coast Freepers who saw the thing as it happened, if it happened, so why not chime in and tell us what you saw? Was it really moving as fast as it looks? Did the smoke/contrail cut off suddenly like rocket engines do? Any signs of 'staging'? Speak your piece and let's get the first-hand information together in one...

Just spoke with old friend, very senior retired USAF general officer/pilot. Says his contacts, many of whom were his "boys," have no idea what Pacific missile is/was As I was calling him, he was calling me to run my old network traps to see if anyone at the network desks in NY or DC have any idea what this was! Data from video seems to be that it was large, ballistic, (not cruise) sub-launched. Course seemed to be trans-polar, so could have impacted in Arctic, Russian Far East, China, etc. Current guesses... and these are wild guesses (some from the...

(CBS) A mysterious missile launch off the southern California coast was caught by CBS affiliate KCBS's cameras Monday night, and officials are staying tight-lipped over the nature of the projectile. CBS station KFMB put in calls to the Navy and Air Force Monday night about the striking launch off the coast of Los Angeles, which was easily visible from the coast, but the military has said nothing about the launch. KFMB showed video of the apparent missile to former U.S. Ambassador to NATO Robert Ellsworth, who is also a former Deputy Secretary of Defense, to get his thoughts. Scroll down...
