Al Gore announced Friday a surprise Live Earth concert in Washington, foiling Senate Republicans who blocked Gore's attempt to bring his global warming extravaganza to the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. The former vice president said the all-day "Mother Earth" concert would be held on the National Mall at the National Museum of the American Indian—about two blocks from the Capitol—as part of Saturday's concert series focused on climate change. CLAUDE, TX -- A massive crack in the earth opened up last week in Claude, Texas and it*s creating a stir among geologists. Geologists said Tuesday the crack was a joint in the earth*s crust. They believe the opening is the result of a weak point in the joint where one spot slips away from the other. Some parts measure more than 30-feet deep and it drained what used to be a pond.
