The Houston PD's Chief, Troy Finner, just confirmed what we'd been told ... namely, that at least one person had been injected with something via needle -- and there well may have been more. Chief Finner said a security guard working the event felt a prick in his neck by an unknown assailant while he was trying to restrain a citizen -- and he quickly fell unconscious. Finner says the guard was revived by use of NARCAN ... and that medical personnel did, indeed, see something on his neck that indicated he'd been stabbed with a syringe.

A young girl is in the hospital after authorities responded to an emergency call and used Narcan to revive her Friday afternoon. Around 12:30 p.m. officers responded to a call for a child in distress outside the Sister Mini Market at Marshall and Arch Streets in Norristown. (CNN)A school bus driver was arrested after she overdosed while driving and crashed into a tree, Newark police said. The driver, Lisa Byrd, was transporting a dozen students from 14th Avenue School in Newark when the vehicle crashed into a tree on Wednesday, officials said in a statement. When first responders arrived, police said they revived the 57-year-old woman with Narcan -- a drug that instantly reverses the effects of overdose from heroin and other opioids. The 29-year-old man who allegedly crashed his car into a Wayne gas station Tuesday while high, killing three people, had previously lost his license after being arrested on charges he drove recklessly while under the influence and has a history of drug addiction. Jason Vanderee, of the Glenwood section of Vernon Township, is accused of slamming into three cars at the Delta gas station on Route 23 “at an excessive speed,” killing a father and son sitting in their car as well as a gas station attendant. JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ-It took Jackson police officers and first responders two shots of narcan to bring a 49 year old overdose victim back from the brink of death on Friday. After being revived and spending a short visit in the hospital, the man called Jackson Police headquarters and wanted to know where all of his coke and heroin went. Police did not charge the man, but seized his stash of drugs as evidence. Apparently he wasn’t happy about it.

COLUMBUS (WCMH) -- The Columbus Division of Police has released body camera footage of officers administering Narcan to one of their fellow officers after he came in contact with an unknown drug during an arrest Sunday. A sergeant on scene asked the woman who was arrested what the substance was. She told him it was allegedly metamphetamine mixed with something else. Lincoln County, WV - A relatively small county in our region is using a new approach to handle drug overdoses. Some are considering it controversial, but county officials stand behind giving out free NARCAN kits for the public. Lincoln County Day Report Officer, J.L. Frye said Wednesday, "You cannot rehabilitate someone who is dead." The Lincoln County Health Department made the announcement via Facebook post, Tuesday that they won a grant- $20,000 worth of NARCAN will be given to those who want it. Those who do want a kit will need to attend a required training course to receive one.

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones said his deputies don't use Narcan now and never will under his watch, despite its effectiveness in reversing the effects of heroin overdoses. He is the only southwestern Ohio sheriff whose department doesn't use it. Deputies in Hamilton, Clermont and Warren counties all carry Narcan. Drug overdoses continue to be the leading cause of death in Butler County, according to the coroner, and the county is on track to break last year's record for the highest number of overdose deaths.
