The New Belgium brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado, is famous for its Fat Tire ale and sizable supply of suds. But recently, CEO Steve Fechheimer decided to craft a new beer, created to highlight how climate change threatens breweries. The beer is called "Torched Earth," and Fechheimer said the drink "tastes like eating a Band-Aid." New Belgium doesn't really want consumers to buy the drink, but wants people to learn something from it. Tracy asked: "What is the future of beer if we don't really address climate change?" Democratic incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet’s first ad of the election cycle touts one of his campaign donors, the New Belgium Brewing Company. Bennet released his first television spot Thursday, which features the senator talking about beer and farmers. “They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Or sometimes, these guys’ treasure,” Bennet says, pointing to a herd of cows. The ad then cuts to Bryan Simpson, who is only introduced as a “brewery worker” in Fort Collins. Simpson praises Bennet for working against a federal regulation of how breweries can sell spent grain, or leftover malt beer makers can...

Liquor stores and restaurants across Craig are pulling Colorado craft beers off their shelves due to the beer companies’ financial support to WildEarth Guardians, the environmental group that put Colowyo Coal Mine at risk of being shut down. Stockmen’s Liquor pulled 12 brands of beer — including New Belgium Brewery — because they are listed as WildEarth Guardians supporters. “We pulled those beers because their support of WildEarth Guardians... who said their ultimate goal is to shut down coal mines,” said Lori Gillam, owner of Stockmen's. “Craig is a coal mine town.” WildEarth Guardians has a list of business supporters...
