Ocasio-Cortez reportedly said she would help progressive activists unseat those moderates in their districts in the 2020 elections.

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- The city of San Francisco has banned the declawing of cats, calling it a barbaric procedure that leads to stress and chronic pain. The city's Board of Supervisors voted 7-2 Tuesday to outlaw the procedure. Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, chief sponsor of the legislation, called declawing cruel, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

GOP Senate hopeful Kathleen Troia "KT" McFarland said yesterday her father threatened her with a gun "on a couple of occasions" when she was a child - and wondered whether recent revelations about her past made it impossible for her to continue to run. McFarland said that news accounts about her upbringing, and how parental abuse may have contributed to her brother's death from AIDS in 1995, was "another form of abuse" - leaving her to wonder if she should abandon her quest to unseat Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

A 29-year-old Connecticut woman pleaded not guilty yesterday to charges she had a sexual relationship with an 8-year-old boy who was her daughter's playmate. Tammy Imre, a part-time receptionist, is charged with first-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. She remains held on a $250,000 bond. (CBS/AP) A terrorist-related threat against the United States Embassy in Saudi Arabia prompted the ambassador there to order non-essential staff and their families out of the country, a State Department official said Thursday.
