There are two key factors contributing to the exaggerated response of some of our citizens following the killing of black Minnesota resident George Floyd by a white police officer in Minneapolis on May 25. By this, I am referring to the widespread riots in cities across America that followed Floyd's tragic death. During the administration of Barack Obama, 40 years of progress in the area of civil rights were essentially expunged from the public record. The notion that America remained an institutionally racist nation was dedicatedly advanced by the Obama White House, its surrogates, the press and the entertainment industry....

WASHINGTON — After months of negotiations, lawmakers in the House and Senate have reached an agreement on Wednesday on legislation that would address how sexual harassment claims are dealt with in Congress, it was announced Wednesday. The legislation would hold members of Congress personally liable for awards and settlements stemming from harassment and related retaliation they personally commit, including those who leave office. They can no longer pay out settlements with taxpayer funds and would be required to foot the bill within 90 days or their wages could be garnished.

There are American women in my Twitter feed who think they are more oppressed than women in Saudi Arabia. I. Can't. Even." -- John Podhoretz Never before have so many claimed to be so oppressed and mistreated over so little as Americans in 2017. We have men who have gotten extraordinarily wealthy and famous playing a game who protest the flag of the nation that put them not just in America’s wealthiest 1%, not just in the global 1%, but in the historical 1% of everyone who has ever lived. We have pampered college students at expensive private schools having...

Attorney General Eric Holder is now arguing that state attorney generals who refuse to defend provisions in their state constitutions restricting marriage to the union of one man and one woman are following in the footsteps of the civil rights movement. "Mr. Holder has said he views today's gay-rights campaigns as a continuation of the civil rights movement that won rights for black Americans in the 1950s and '60s," the New York Times reported Tuesday. Holder provided an example of what the Times was talking about when he spoke earlier this month at a dinner sponsored by the Human Rights...

A year ago this month, the attorney general for the District of Columbia let NBC News anchor David Gregory off scot-free for possession of a “high capacity” magazine because doing so “would not promote public safety.” Now, Irvin Nathan refuses to use that same prosecutorial discretion for an average citizen who violated a bizarre technicality that makes empty casings and shells a crime as serious as having an illegal firearm.

Judicial Watch announced today that it has obtained documents proving that the Department of Justice played a major behind-the-scenes role in organizing protests against George Zimmerman. Zimmerman is on trial for second-degree murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in February 2012. Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the DOJ on April 24, 2012. According to the documents JW received, a little-known DOJ unit called the Community Relations Service deployed to Sanford, FL to organize and manage rallies against Zimmerman. Among JW’s findings: •March 25 – 27, 2012, CRS spent $674.14 upon being “deployed to...
  • Obama Justice Department: Draconian Nazi-era law banning homeschooling promotes ‘tolerance’

The Romeike family PURCELLVILLE, VA, July 2, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) - On June 26, the Department of Justice submitted a brief to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals stating Germany's laws that suppress religious homeschooling aim at promoting "tolerance" and are not grounds for claiming persecution. Homeschooling is illegal in Germany under a law dating back to the Hitler era, and in recent years the country has become increasingly draconian in enforcing the law – removing children from their families, levying heavy fines, even sentencing homeschooling parents to jail. The German Supreme Court has stated that the purpose of the homeschool ban is to “counteract the development of religious...

A Louisiana law official is outraged over the federal government’s decision to cut off funds for two programs to help troubled young people, because he refused to sign a pledge to bar prayer or any mention of God at their meetings. Julian Whittington, the sheriff of Bossier Parish, Louisiana, told Fox News that the Department of Justice Office of Civil Rights de-funded $30,000 for their Young Marines chapter as well as a youth diversion program. WASHINGTON (AP) — An Internal Revenue Service supervisor in Washington says she was personally involved in scrutinizing some of the earliest applications from tea party groups seeking tax-exempt status, including some requests that languished for more than a year without action. Holly Paz, who until recently was a top deputy in the division that handles applications for tax-exempt status, told congressional investigators she reviewed 20 to 30 applications. Her assertion contradicts initial claims by the agency that a small group of agents working in an office in Cincinnati were solely responsible for mishandling the applications. Paz, however, provided no evidence...

As the IRS attacked Tea Party groups, it left hundreds of leftist activist groups alone. A quick review of just eight of those leftist, tax-exempt activist groups demonstrates the IRS's hypocrisy. Americans United for Change Americans United for Change enjoys 501(c)4 tax-exempt status. The organization exists, according to its own website, “to amplify the progressive message--to contribute to a grass roots groundswell for progressive policies. Progressives need to redefine ‘common sense’--by reasserting the primacy of the traditional progressive values that resonate with most Americans.” The group spent $4.7 million in 2009 “redefining” common sense and, according to their IRS form...
  • Miller refuses to identify 'rogue' IRS employees who targeted conservatives

This is just outrageous - like the rest of Stephen Miller's testimony yesterday. Reuters: "Republicans have vowed to find out who was involved, but Miller did not provide much of a road map." "Who is responsible for targeting these individuals?" asked Representative Kevin Brady, a Texas Republican. "I don't have names for you," Miller responded. "Republicans accused him of dodging their questions." "I'm hearing, 'I don't know, I don't remember, I don't recall, I don't believe,'" said Representative Dave Reichert of Washington. "You don't even know who investigated the case, but yet you say it was investigated." "Democrats seemed more...

Here is video of a very uncomfortable Sen. John Kerry trying to get away from questions about whether he intends to pay Massachusetts taxes ($500,000) on his $7 Million Yacht. Kerry has his yacht in Rhode Island right now, but was clearly agitated when asked if he had ever berthed the yacht in Massachusetts. If he has, he owes the taxes. When asked, he responded with “that depends on who owns it. Can I get out of here?” He then slammed the door to his SUV and drove away. This is too good to see a tax-and-spend liberal Democrat being...

It was a year ago this month that President Barack Obama began losing voters. In the 12 months since, he has had legislative victories that appear – especially in the case of health care – to have cost him large amounts of both political capital and political support. A comparison of the public’s views of him then and now tells us a great deal about the shape of American politics and how difficult it is for any president, even one as politically gifted as Barack Obama, to surmount the nation’s deep political and ideological divisions. [Snip] On Election Day 2008,...

What a hypocrite. President Obamaberates Arizona for its new illegal immigration law, spreading the lie that it authorizes Arizona police to demand that anyone who looks foreign or has brown skin show his or her papers. Mr. Obama jokes about how racist it is for anyone to be asked for his or her papers. Yet when he goes to Kalamazoo, Mich., to give an address to the students at Central High School, every student who wants to meet him is required to show proof of citizenship. Once again, there are rules and laws for the everyday people - and then...
