Eleven Metropolitan police officers were injured in a suspected vitriolage attack during a drugs bust in the North London borough of Barnet. Knife crime in England and Wales reached a historic high in the year leading up to the end of March, as murders climb again in Sadiq Khan’s London. “High-harm” violent offences involving weapons are soaring in England and Wales, as a crime wave continues, with knife and gun crime, as well as homicide, shooting up. A man armed with a machete and two others are accused of stealing a cash register from a restaurant in Chelsea. A North Carolina restaurant that posted a sign out front saying it was a gun-free zone was robbed at gunpoint earlier this week. As seen in surveillance video, Eyewitness News 11 reports, three men wearing hooded sweatshirts and wielding handguns entered The Pit, a barbecue restaurant, through the kitchen Sunday night. Western Springs and La Grange members of an anti-gun violence group are asking area businesses to post signs depicting No Guns Allowed. A new state law allows residents to carry concealed weapons, pending approval of permit applications through the Illinois State Police. A dusk-to-dawn curfew has been declared in Durham as thousands of homes and businesses remain without power. In Durham alone, 105,000 customers -- or 91 percent of Duke Power's customers -- are without power.
