Norwegian Cruise Line updates its protocols by notifying guests to wear a mask indoors except while eating or drinking and outdoors when social distancing is not possible. In an email sent to booked guests, Norwegian Cruise Line has updated its onboard mask policy to ask guests to wear masks while indoors as well as outdoors when social distancing cannot be maintained. This is an abrupt change from the line’s fully-vaccinated “cruise mask-free” policy, and has been made without warning. Norwegian Cruise Line “Asking” Guests to Wear Masks Guests booked on sailings of Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Breakaway, and Norwegian...

U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams granted Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings a preliminary injunction on Sunday evening challenging Gov. Ron DeSantis' statewide ban for businesses to require vaccines before engaging in certain activities. In the ruling, she wrote that Florida failed to "provide a valid evidentiary, factual, or legal predicate" for the ban, documents obtained by Politico show. The order allows the company to operate with 100% vaccinations or the requirement of all guests and crew to be vaccinated when sailing from Florida ports. The company will not be subject to $5,000 fines for every violation of the Republican governor's order,...

At present, the three lines have canceled cruises through June 30.

Israelis Detained on Board Norwegian Jade as Cruise Ship Docked in Port of Tunis Israeli tourists were denied the right to disembark from the Norwegian Jade, a vessel operated by the Norwegian Cruise Line, when it stopped in the Port of Tunis, Tunisia recently, Jewish human rights organization B’nai Brith Canada said on Sunday. As passengers prepared to get off the ship to visit the North African republic, the Israelis were quietly told that they were not welcomed by the Tunisian Government, the group said in a statement. A summer cruise for gay and lesbian families organized by Rosie O'Donnell has cut Bermuda from its planned itinerary because of possible protests by church groups in the British island territory. O'Donnell's charter company said it wanted to avoid the type of protests that greeted passengers when one of its cruises stopped in Nassau, Bahamas, in 2004. The tour is scheduled to leave New York in July on a ship owned by Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Line. But the charter company, R Family Vacations, said on its Web site that it would replace the Bermuda stop with two other ports of...
