I feel as though they should ban smoking in all night clubs, so that people can go and enjoy themselves without having to smell like smoke after walking out of the night club or having the fear of second hand smoke later in life. If one state lawmaker gets his way, Lady and the Tramp could hypothetically eat inside restaurants in Maryland, instead of outside. Baltimore County Delegate Dan Morhaim, D-District 11, introduced a bill Tuesday that would give restaurants owners the option of allowing dogs in their establishments. The bill would overrule decades of American public health practices, but Morhaim -- who is a doctor and a dog owner -- said he sees no health risk in admitting dogs to the public areas of restaurants.

Diners who want to enjoy a meal without inhaling secondhand smoke will soon be able to check out a list of smoke-free restaurants in Cincinnati. The Cincinnati Health Department is surveying the city's 1,960 eateries and will feature the list on its Web site, possibly by March. This follows an effort begun last year by the Hamilton County Health District to document smoke-free restaurants located outside the city limits. Officials want to help health-conscience consumers, but they also want to gauge where the industry is going. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Attorneys general from 24 states are asking the film industry to reduce the amount of smoking in films to prevent teens from taking up the habit. In a letter Tuesday, the attorneys cited a June study from Dartmouth Medical School that said children who watch movies in which actors smoke heavily are three times more likely to smoke themselves than those exposed to less smoking on-screen.
