Festival organizer John Bruner has led the Bigfoot 911 explorer team for years here. He says they used the juice about a year ago and finally hit pay dirt. "We were doing an expedition and I had one cross the forest service road about 30 yards from where I was at, and I got a really good look at it," Bruner says. "I've been hunting Bigfoot for 40 years and doing research — and it was just totally exhilarating for me. ... I finally got to see one after all I've went through and all the time I've spent in...

New Hampshire residents were disgusted to discover the shoreline of a popular beach was covered with thousands of maggots last week. The tiny larvae were seen wiggling on top of piles of seaweed that washed ashore as well as covering patches of sand near the surf. Resident Ryan Fowler was appalled by the sight on Hampton Beach, which he told NBC 10 was "writhing with maggots, probably thousands of maggots." "It's really disappointing because my loved ones swim in it," he told the news station. Fowler captured the disturbing scene on video, which has since gone viral on Facebook with more than 540,000 views as of...

Sao was initially rushed to a hospital in Webster City, before being brought to Des Moines for further treatment. His injuries are said to be non-life-threatening. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) are investigating the incident, though they do not suspect...

People in a nearby fishing boat noticed the crash and called for help. They also flagged down the boat operator who hit her, officials stated. "I just hope there wasn’t some chemicals or intoxication involved given it’s a holiday weekend," area resident Juan Barrera said. The boat was believed to be an "approximately 50-foot power vessel," sheriff's Lt. Deryl Walker told the Los Angeles Times. The operator of the boat, along with a woman who was on board, were cooperating with law enforcement, authorities said. Furthermore, there was no evidence of a crime, according to officials.

WASHINGTON — Routine sign replacement above an orphaned freeway in Foggy Bottom uncovered a roadside relic Thursday morning, evoking memories of an ambitious and contentious era in highway design.Cones were in place and two left lanes were blocked by 10 a.m. on the Interstate 66 Potomac River Freeway. Road crews with grinder saws and hammers were lifted by bucket trucks up to a weathered overhead structure behind the Kennedy Center. As strips of rotting plywood were pried off the face of a nearly 50-year-old sign, the outline of an Interstate 695 shield and two white arrows came into view, indicating a...

Elk regrow their racks every year, and the longer they have to do this, the bigger—and better—those antlers are when the fall mating season comes around. Some drop them by early March, whereas others—particular young ones—keep them through April. No one really knew why all elks don’t drop their antlers sooner. ...A dozen years of data suggest wolves tend to target males who have lost their antlers. So, the earlier a male casts off his headgear, the greater his risk of getting eaten... The study illustrates a difficult choice male elk have to make every year,

The family from Loyal, Wisconsin, set out from Madeline Island in an open-top tandem kayak Thursday for a 4-mile (6-kilometer) paddle across open water to Michigan Island. But their 13½-foot (4-meter) kayak capsized after the wind picked up. Eric Fryman, 39, and his three children, Kyra, 9, Annaliese, 5, and Jansen, 3, were found dead in the frigid water. Only his wife, the children’s mother, Cari Mews-Fryman, 29, survived. All of them wore life jackets. Coast Guard officials said hypothermia was probably a major factor in the deaths, especially of the children.

In the bottom corner of my overstuffed dresser drawer of running clothes is a 9-year-old sports bra. Its once-fiery orange has faded to a dingy, tepid coral. Two of its hooks are bent in directions that make it impossible to wear. The Velcro straps—adjustable for comfort on this Cadillac of bras—don’t stick together anymore, which means that if I were to put it on, my breasts would loll out like a pair of microwaved Peeps. This nearly decade-old bra is the opposite of lingerie. Frankly, it’s a little gross that I still have it, but I can’t bring myself to...
  • Giant lizard in Florida evades capture, torments family: It's 'terrifying to look at'

A giant lizard that’s terrorizing a Florida family has no intention of being captured, as it has managed to evade state wildlife officials, trappers and hunting dogs for days. The reptile — what the South Florida Sun Sentinel identified as a monitor lizard, weighing roughly 150 pounds — was first spotted by Zachary Lieberman a few weeks ago on a horse trail behind his family’s home. While he contacted the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) about the 6-foot lizard, he told Fox News on Friday he never expected the reptile to make its way into his backyard. On Sunday,...

I was at Rockaway Beach yesterday in Queens, NY, sitting and watching the water, when, several hundred feet or so offshore, I spot what appeared to be a fin poking out of the water. I thought at first it might just be a piece of trash floating on the surface, but then several more appear. Looking around I noticed other fins a hundred or so feet behind the first group. The more I looked the more I saw. They continued passing for about 20 mins. Turned out to be a large pod of Dolphins. Probably hundreds of them. Strange, but...

When a Colorado woman collapsed at the top of a 14,000 feet summit in the Rocky Mountains, strangers banded together to carry her all the way down. “It was just so amazing,” 55-year-old Beverly Wedelstedt told InsideEdition.com. “Amazing humanity.” She explained that she and some friends were hiking Gray’s Peak last Saturday when Wedelstedt felt her knee give out. . . . As her friends discussed how best so support her down the narrow trail together, another hiker chimed in, saying he'd carry her himself. “One gentleman says, ‘I’m military. Are you comfortable doing a fireman carry? I’m going to...
