SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) -- Two police officers were attacked with sharp objects by protestors in an Occupy San Francisco march this afternoon, police said. Protestors were marching in the area of Embarcadero and Broadway around 3:30 p.m. today when the attacks occurred, according to police. What we have here are the biggest, baddest public temper tantrums we’ve seen since 1960s spoiled-brat college kids reverted to the terrible twos and marched, rioted, burned, and bombed their way across America. So far at least, the violence at “Occupy” tantrums hasn’t reached ’60s-level, though there have been thefts, assaults, rapes, and lots – and lots and lots – of incendiary hate speech.

From the start of the Occupy Freak Street movement the media compared the protests to the tea party. Based on jealousy over the movement that captured the nation prior to the November 2010 elections and since, the media wanted desperately to have protests they could relate to and promote. The tea party certainly was not that, so protecting #OWS has been their mission.

Alleged sexual assaults at Occupy Wall Street camps have raised concerns about security in a handful of cities, including reports of rape and groping in tents at New York's Zuccotti Park and a sex offender in Dallas having sex with an underage runaway. "These protests have a history of welcoming everyone and just assuming they're on your side," said David Meyer, a professor of sociology at the University of California at Irvine, who studies protest movements. The recent reports of assaults have created a problem the "Occupy" movement is being challenged to address head-on. "We always encourage victims to go...
