A Palmview homeowner is not facing criminal charges after he reportedly shot and killed a burglar trying to enter his home. Authorities are not releasing an address but said It all happened inside Palmview city limits around 1 a.m. Wednesday. Palmview police told Action 4 News that a burglar broke a window and was trying to enter the man's home. The homeowner told police his family was inside the home and that he shot at the burglar. EDINBURG — Six people accused of a February drug-related slaying faced capital murder charges Thursday morning. The sextet of suspects are allegedly part of a local drug smuggling group that ordered a hit of one of their own after he allegedly stole a load of marijuana delivered to a customer in February, investigators said. Hidalgo County sheriff's deputies found Gilberto Aguilar beaten and shot to death on Feb. 6 in a remote field north of Palmview. Investigators also found over 70 illegal immigrants PALMVIEW - Sheriff's deputies arrested the head of an auto theft ring near Palmview. The man is also accused of human smuggling. The arrest happened on Bentsen Palm Drive and Three Mile Line. Investigators were watching a house connected to possible stolen vehicles.
