"Prognosticators lay out most competitive races following Glenn Youngkin’s big Virginia win After a big win in blue Virginia and near-upset in bluer New Jersey, Republicans are hoping for a red wave in governor's races for 2022 – looking at potential pickups mainly in Midwestern states. President Biden has a low approval rating, and historically a president’s party takes a beating in midterm elections. But Republicans are facing the departure of two incumbent governors in blue states, while multiple incumbents are facing primaries as former President Trump also will likely play a big role in the midterm election. One template...

TRENTON, New Jersey — Republican Gov. Chris Christie on Wednesday touted an anti-tax crusader's endorsement of a proposed 23-cent- per-gallon gasoline tax hike along with a sales tax cut, sweeping aside objections raised by Democratic leaders in the state Senate and voicing confidence that the measure would be passed in that chamber. Christie all but dared lawmakers not to act on his plan during a statehouse news conference, a day after the Assembly passed the plan to pay for a $2 billion a year transportation trust fund for eight years. The fund runs out of borrowing authority Friday, and Christie's...

TRENTON — Conservative activist James O'Keefe has released a video — titled "Teachers unions gone wild" — claiming to show undercover footage from a New Jersey Education Association leadership conference at the East Brunswick Hilton hotel. The video shows people identified as teachers playing arcade games on "their dime," chanting about kicking Gov. Chris Christie "in the toolbox," and talking about how hard it is to fire a tenured teacher. NJEA spokesman Steve Baker said O'Keefe is "completely and utterly discredited." "It’s James O’Keefe and that’s all you need to know," Baker said, citing O'Keefe's legal troubles in the past....

Trenton Councilwoman Robin Vaughn on Saturday let loose a stream of expletives and homophobic insults against the New Jersey city's mayor, who is gay, after a disagreement between the two about funding for nonprofit organizations during a conference call, according to a report. In audio obtained by The Trentonian, Vaughn, other members of the Trenton City Council and Mayor Reed Gusciora were discussing efforts to manage the city during the coronavirus pandemic when Vaughn and Gusciora got into a confrontation on "do-nothing" charity organizations getting city money and launched into an angry tirade over the phone. "The concern as to...

It was the call heard 'round the world. A May 2 virtual meeting meant for Trenton officials to discuss fighting the devastating coronavirus in the Capital City devolved into a mudslinging free-for-all of homophobic slurs and insults. **SNIP** But things escalated to new heights on May 2, when West Ward Councilwoman Robin Vaughn unloaded on East Ward Councilman Joe Harrison and Gusciora during a conference call for the local leaders to discuss the city’s response to the coronavirus. In her rant, Vaughn called Gusciora a "pedophile,” a “woman” and a “bitch a**,” among a flood of expletives. When Harrison tried...

It’s a done deal. Tolls on the states three major toll highways are going up in September, after Gov. Phil Murphy gave a final approval of the increases and the multi-billion dollar construction plans they fund. Murphy signed the meeting minutes on May 27 and sent confirmation letters to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and South Jersey Transportation Authority, said Jerrel Harvey, a spokesman for the governor. The approvals came on the same day boards of both agencies met, held lengthy public hearings and approved the toll increases. Governors have the option to approve authority board minutes, or not to...

TRENTON, NJ – Trenton liberal Democrats have completely lost their minds. First, let’s start with the left not even liking Christmas and wanting to cancel the entire deal. But, now since it can be used to push the vaccine agenda of the Murphy administration, the NJ DOH is paying, with taxpayer money to produce and run commercials of a boy with asking Santa for the COVID-19 vaccine instead of games and toys. “Dear Santa, I don’t want games. I don’t want toys. Just get me the COVID-19 vaccine,” the boy says. Many New Jerseyeans expressed their shock at the disturbing...

With COVID-19 cases once again soaring in New Jersey, Gov. Phil Murphy said the state could soon face new restrictions in response to a deadly pandemic that is once more growing. “My fear is we’re going to be getting back to capacity limits at some point,” Murphy said during an unrelated press event at Port Newark on Friday, where he warned “this thing is still with us and sadly, the numbers are still going up.”

Watching the shenanigans in the still contested New Jersey gubernatorial election, I have to wonder whether there has ever been a truly honest election in state history. From my own experience, I would say probably not and, as I also learned, there are a thousand ways to cheat. In 1982, through an odd sequence of events, I found myself with a ringside seat on a routinely crooked Newark mayoral election. I had been offered a job as “associate director” of the 1,000-employee Newark Housing and Redevelopment Authority. This being a recession year, and I needing to finish my Ph.D. dissertation,...

Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” Daily Mail (U.K.) columnist Meghan McCain discussed the left’s reaction to Winsome Sears, a black Republican woman, elected Virginia’s lieutenant governor. MacCallum said, “I thought this was stunning. This is from ‘Saturday Night Live,’ they went off on Winsome Sears on the Update segment of ‘SNL’ the other night. Watch this.

Glenn Youngkin, good man as he seems to be, is not a stand-in for active and engaged parents. If they leave the field, he will not succeed.Watch the video for a monologue followed by an interview with Russ Vought, former OMB director and current president of the Center for Renewing America, and Shaun Rieley, senior director for advancement and programs at The American Conservative, a doctor of political philosophy, and combat veteran of the War on Terror.Tuesday was one heck of a night in Virginia. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy’s (D) campaign is calling on his Republican opponent Jack Ciattarelli to concede last week’s election, arguing that he no longer has a path to victory. Ciattarelli, a former state legislature, had remained silent on the results of the election since last Thursday, though the current vote count currently shows him trailing Murphy by 2.6 percentage points, or a little more than 65,000 votes. While some provisional and mail-in ballots have yet to be counted, Murphy’s campaign argued that it won’t be enough to alter the outcome of the race in Ciattarelli’s favor.

When angry Democrats lashed out over Terry McAuliffe's loss in Virginia last week, they blamed "white supremacy" and racism for Republicans winning, but particularly directed their ire at white suburban moms. Now, some of those moms are speaking out. What happened? CNN anchor Pamela Brown sat down with four white suburban moms to understand how President Joe Biden won a greater share of white suburban moms in the 2020 election, but Glenn Youngkin carried a greater share of them last week. ... all four supported Youngkin. The women said they believe that suburban moms "100%" are the reason Youngkin won,...

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy had not been expected to have a close race against Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli, but he nearly lost, coming up with just enough votes to prevail as votes continued to be counted after Election Day had come and gone. While Murphy's near-loss and Virginia Democrat Terry McAuliffe's defeat has been seen by some as an indicator that Americans are not in favor of current Democratic policies, Murphy claimed Sunday that his policies are exactly what kept him in office.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) on Sunday said congressional Democrats “blew the timing” on passing the bipartisan infrastructure bill and social spending package, suggesting that the timeline could have contributed to the party’s loss in Tuesday’s Virginia gubernatorial race. Kaine, who represents Virginia and previously served as governor of the Old Dominion, said Democrats on Capitol Hill should have passed the two bills in October instead of letting internal party disagreements delay the vote.

The Bush campaign style is making a comeback. Democrats should be afraid. Very afraid. Among the messages emerging from Glenn Youngkin’s victory in the Virginia governor’s race last week is this: The era of angry, fire-breathing GOP candidates may be over, replaced by a campaign approach Democrats rarely seem to beat. Instead of a raging Donald Trump, Jim Jordan, or Marjorie Taylor Greene, there is the shrewd candidate with a keen eye for wedge issues, camouflaged by khakis and a calm demeanor. Think George Bush — senior and junior.

MTP's Chuck Todd, talked today (Nov/7/2021) about White Suburban Women vote for GOP, such as in VA and NJ... Sara Fagen hit the nail on the head that the hard left pulls the strings in Dems. She added: What people don't like about Joe Buden us his dishonesty, he ran as a centrist but has governed as a very progressive. PBS's news hours Amna Nawaz squeezed in her Squad-friendly POV.. Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville blamed "stupid wokeness" for the resounding losses the Democratic Party sustained in Tuesday's elections across the country. Carville made the comments while being interviewed by Judy Woodruff on "PBS Newshour" Wednesday. "What went wrong is just stupid wokeness. Alright, don't just look at Virginia and New Jersey. Look at Long Island, look at Buffalo, look at Minneapolis, even look at Seattle, Washington. I mean, this 'defund the police' lunacy, this take Abraham Lincoln's name off of schools. I mean that — people see that," Carville said emphatically. "It's just really — has a suppressive effect...
