Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin launch an effort aimed at educating the country on the federal governments failure to secure our nations southern border and its failure to address the human tragedy that is occurring as a result. They also asked Americans to stand up and support Arizona. Key to the Secure the Border—Support Arizona effort is the launching of a new website devoted to these issues: www.SecuretheBorder.org. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton called John McCain yesterday to personally apologize and denounce comments an adviser of hers reportedly made slamming the GOP senator over his time in captivity in Vietnam. The move from one potential 2008 presidential candidate to another was sparked by a column in The New York Times, in which Maureen Dowd quoted an anonymous adviser talking about McCain's criticism of the Clintons over their North Korea position. In an interview with a German newspaper, Colin Powell hinted that maybe the United States was a too much like Rambo when talking about Iraq in the runup to the invasion. Well, it didn't last long. With the innaguration less than a month behind us, Washington is back to its pork barrel ways. But what might surprise you is who is attacking the President. Ray LaHood, (R-Ill) is none to happy that Bush has decided to scale back farm subsidies and close loopholes that would allow large scale farms to make claims above which are allowed. I am not a farmer, nor have I ever been one, so I don't know the difficulties of making a buck growing crops. But what I do know is that the American people are subsidizing...
