George Orwell would have been the first to admit that by controlling language you can control people's attitudes. The government has been doing that for years with code phrases like "Abortion" (also known as ending the life of a baby) and "Earned Income Tax Credit" (also known as welfare). But now liberals are getting upset that President Trump is ripping several pages from their new-speak lexicon. The Trump administration is prohibiting officials at the nation’s top public health agency from using a list of seven words or phrases — including “fetus” and “transgender” — in any official documents being prepared...

The College of the Holy Cross is mulling whether to shed its century-old sports symbol the "Crusader" out of concerns the image of a Christian warrior might be offensive to Muslims.

It seems like only yesterday we were discussing the release of Hibaj Barbie just in time for Christmas. Her arrival has caught the attention of others as well, including James Robbins in USA Today who writes that the doll is not exclusively targeted at Muslim parents – which is good because they’re not a reliable source of Christmas revenue. One obvious market for the doll is the liberal, non-Muslim parent who wants to make a statement to the world about tolerance and intersectionality. This is the kind of person who dresses a baby boy in pink to trap the unwary into...

A federal appeals court has found that a 40-foot-tall cross on a Maryland state highway median just outside Washington violates the U.S. Constitution. A three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit of Appeals in Richmond ruled Wednesday that the 92-year-old monument known as the Bladensburg cross amounts to government sponsorship of a particular religion. […] The American Humanist Association said it endorses Christianity while ignoring non-Christian veterans. …

Areas of New York City that are offensive and must be changed. (and why stop there? would be fun to read everyone's idea of what we should change to avoid hurting or offending anyone at all!) BROADWAY – Is sexist using archaic name for women EAST VILLAGE – A reference to the roots of capitalism THE VILLAGE – Natural man had no villages, no boundaries THE MEAT PACKING DISTRICT – Clearly a homophobic slur HARLEM – A soft-reference to ‘harem’ and a slur against the African Americans who live there QUEENS – another gay slur DYKER HEIGHTS – clearly an...

I work for a college which is very liberal these days, in your face banners and condescending "workshops" open to all frequently, with "diversity credit" (reference below). It's sickening enough. Including having Moochelle Uhbama here the other year. But since Trump was elected, now we get hand-wringing e-mails about "hatred" and that we need to beware of evil right-wing people who cause violence (LOL). Got another one today.

A school board in Portland, Ore., has dropped “Lynch” from the names of two elementary schools, claiming it had negative connotations and made some people feel uncomfortable. The move Wednesday evening by the Centennial School District’s board also included a slight alteration to the name of a third school. But the move has sparked criticism, including on social media, from some community residents and former students. They claim the board’s decision is a sign of political correctness running amok. The district had received complaints in recent years that the names of Lynch Meadows Elementary School, Lynch View Elementary School and Lynch...

In today’s edition of “What’s Wrong With America?” we focus on education. Nearly half of all U.S. students graduate with an “A” average. That’s right: Nearly half of America’s Class of 2016 are A students. Meanwhile, their average SAT score fell from 1,026 to 1,002 on a 1,600-point scale — suggesting that those A's on report cards might be fool's gold. – USA Today That’s up from 38% in 1998. At this rate 100% of the progeny of Gen Z should be A students. All dumber than a box of rocks. So maybe they’ll be able to figure out how to...

ESPN's audience saw a decrease in conservative leaning viewers between 2015 and 2016, according to a new analysis. Deep Root Analytics conducted the study which found that ESPN viewership in 34 of 43 television markets saw a decrease in Republican viewers between the years that kick-started the presidential campaigns and election. Multiple channels in the ESPN family saw their viewership move to the left of the political spectrum. While ESPN and ESPN 2 saw just a 5 percent and 10 percent decrease in Republican viewers respectively, ESPN News viewership became 36 percent less Republican. The decrease in conservative viewers was...

The College Blueprint for a Totalitarian America The battle over freedom on campus is the battle for freedom in America. May 12, 2017 Daniel Greenfield Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. There is a place in America where civil rights don’t exist. The First Amendment doesn’t apply. Neither does the Sixth Amendment. (Never mind the Second.) Not only Freedom of Speech, but Freedom of Association (NAACP v. Alabama) is under fire. Snowflakes. Oversensitive. We’ve all heard those accusations leveled at college students. Are millennial college students really...

Michael Savage famously said that liberalism is a mental disorder. I think it is more precise to say that liberalism is a cult. Isolation, threats and routine shaming all serve to silence cult members who cross them, exactly as happens with political correctness. The dreaded label of racist or bigot chills most opposition. Those closest to you will ostracize you for expressing an incorrect view, exactly as in a cult. Eventually, the inclination is to censor what you not only say but what you think. Most people upon being intimidated will rein in their perceptions and even their curiosity because...

What in the world has happened to the United States? We are rapidly getting to the point where political correctness is in danger of becoming our national religion. Of course most people would not even call it a “religion”, but for most Americans this unwritten set of rules shapes everything that they think, do and say. Many had been hoping that the spell of political correctness would be broken by the election of Donald Trump, but that obviously has not happened. The forces of political correctness still have a stranglehold on our education system, on all forms of entertainment, on...

Katy Perry's single 'Chained to the Rhythm’ chastises her “wasted zombie” fans as she promises her new album will be “pop with a purpose” as she’s now a “political activist.” She will perform her noise pollution tonight at the Grammys. These leftists are all losing their little minds. Kat Perrty is just another snowflake.

(snip) Therefore doctors should not use the expression expectant mothers but expectant people, for fear of offending all the pregnant transsexuals. Whether anyone has ever met an expectant transsexual offended by the term expectant mother is not stated; nor is the possibility aired that, if such a being actually existed, he or she should simply be told not to be so silly. The BMA now lives, or wants to live, in a world in which taking offense is its own justification: The offended, or yet-to-be offended, have taken over from the victims as the world’s heroes. In the BMA’s brave...

I know many of you will be boycotting the Big Game today, which is certainly understandable given the NFL’s temporary devolution into political correctness. We, however, will be gathering with Raj’s clan to watch the Super Bowl as has been the family tradition for 51 years. Since 1967 all of the 9 siblings who were either in town or within driving distance have gathered at Casa Raj to watch the Super Bowl, cheer for their favorite team, diss the refs and otherwise carry on like typical football fans. Mom would make a pot of chili and a pot of her famous...

Certain politically-correct refugee religious backgrounds are preferred while others are essentially ignored. And in almost no instance are the refugees properly-vetted Having long admired your home as a place of peace and a comfortable living, a hungry man unlawfully breaks and enters and, his admiration having been confirmed, decides to take up residence. His family joins him, and soon new babies arrive to anchor his claim that he has a “right” to residence in your home.

The New York Police Department is now allowing officers to wear beards and grow turbans in a bid to accommodate Sikh recruits. Sikh officers will be allowed to wear turbans in place of the traditional police cap and grow beards up to a half-inch long, which are required for religious reasons. Police Commissioner James O'Neill announced the new rules that affect all religious members on Wednesday following a graduation ceremony for new police recruits.
