PORTUGAL: MEDIEVAL MUSLIM BURIAL GROUND UNEARTHED Lisbon, 12 May (AKI) - Skeletons belonging to some 35 corpses have surfaced from a Portuguese excavation site which archaelogists believe could be one of the the largest medieval Muslim burial grounds in Europe. A Monroe woman accused of stabbing her 15-year-old brother and 12-year-old son following an argument over pork chops is being held at the Ouachita Correctional Center in lieu of 15-thousand dolalrs bond. Deputies arrested 31-year-old Tammie Peter early yesterday on allegations of aggravated battery and aggravated second-degree battery. Sheriff's deputies say the incident began Sunday after Peter returned home with her boyfriend and discovered that her brother, who lives with her, had cooked two pork chops for himself and no one else. A Murray City police officer pleaded innocent last week to negligent-homicide charges related to a car wreck that claimed the life of a 19-year-old woman a year ago. Officer Carla Redding also was charged May 29 with negligent collision, a class B misdemeanor, and speeding, a class C misdemeanor. Negligent homicide is a class A misdemeanor. The charges, handled on appeal by the Weber County Attorney's Office, reverse the opinion of the Salt Lake District Attorney's Office, which had declined to prosecute Redding.
