Okay, let's chat, Mods...There seems to be our own version of shadow banning going on here at Free Republic. It's not acceptable on Twitter, and it sure as heck shouldn't be acceptable here of all places.I've noticed several times where topics get mysteriously deleted. Not some -- as a mod might disagree with one -- but the whole slate gets wiped. When topics are deleted, the posts are no longer bumped into categories that people follow -- in other words, shadow banned. A recent example for me was this post:Luke Knox, Florida International University football player and brother of NFL's...

n an unprecedented action, the ANSWER Coalition today received citations fining the organization $10,000 for the placement of posters announcing the September 15 March on Washington DC. The fines come after a campaign led by FOX news calling for the DC government to take action against those putting up posters for the September 15 demonstration. They have told us that we have 72 hours to remove every poster, or the fines will go into effect. Tens of thousands of dollars in additional fines are expected in the coming days. Bush’s Interior Department is threatening similar actions against ANSWER. The September 15 posters are...

(CNSNews.com) - The anti-war activist group Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER) faces a $10,000 fine from the city of Washington if it fails to remove thousands of fliers it has posted to advertise a September anti-war march. "They have told us that we have 72 hours to remove every poster, or the fines will go into effect," the group said in a statement Tuesday. "Tens of thousands of dollars in additional fines are expected in the coming days." The group accuses "Bush's Interior Department" of using "intimidation tactics to slow our outreach or silence" the antiwar...

BOSTON -- Nine blinking electronic devices planted at bridges and other spots in Boston threw a scare into the city Wednesday in what turned out to be a marketing campaign for a late-night cable cartoon. At least one of the devices depicts a character giving the finger. Highways, bridges and a section of the Charles River were shut down and bomb squads were sent in before authorities declared the devices were harmless. "It's a hoax -- and it's not funny," said Gov. Deval Patrick. Turner Broadcasting, parent company of Cartoon Network, said the devices were part of a promotion for...

It was bad enough when cartoons caused rioting in Muslim countries. As a native Bostonian, I am embarrassed at the level of hysteria caused by cartoons in my home city. In an effort to promote a late night Cartoon Network show called “Aqua Teen Hunger Force”, Turner Broadcasting hired some guerilla marketers to attach magnetic boxes with the lighted image of one of the characters on several locations around the city of Boston. Now I don’t know much about making terror bombs, but city officials were notified and later considered the boxes dangerous. Have any of us ever heard of...
  • PLEASE! STOP POSTING SAME MESSAGE ON ALL BOARDS!

The purpose of FreeRepublic.com's multiple message boards is to limit the topics for each board to particular topics. Posting the same message on all the boards defeats the purpose of multiple-boards for special topics. It is very annoying to see the same message on every bulletin board. PLEASE! DO THE READERS A FAVOR. STOP CROSS-POSTING YOUR MESSAGES!
