PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: The President arrived back at the White House this afternoon after visiting Texas and Louisiana, where he received briefings on the federal disaster response. He also met with state and local officials, and with first responders. Late today, Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco gave a short speech in which she praised President Bush for his efforts to help her state.
