The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is urging film and TV productions in the area to shut down as fears of another coronavirus surge wash over the state. “Although music, TV and film productions are allowed to operate,” the health department said according to Deadline, “we ask you to strongly consider pausing work for a few weeks during this catastrophic surge in Covid cases. Identify and delay higher risk activities, and focus on lower-risk work for now, if at all possible."

**SNIP** Still, Ms. Noujaim and Mr. Amer have managed to keep going at a time when Hollywood has closed down film and television productions. After shuttering their 35-person office in Brooklyn, the married couple decamped to a house in the Berkshires, where they have made progress on six projects in various stages of production, including an HBO documentary series on Nxivm, a secretive self-help organization that has been depicted as a sex cult. And they’ve been working while watching over their three children, all under the age of five. “It’s a complete juggling act for everybody,” Ms. Noujaim said. For...

The conventional Hollywood wisdom has long held that religious and family-friendly movies are not high earners. But this wisdom is beginning to wane in the face of recent theater trends. The five top-grossing movies so far this year are rated either PG or PG-13, and all of them have surpassed the $100 million mark. Two of last year’s top 5, Shrek 2 and The Incredibles, were PG-rated animated films. This kind of success is causing executives to rethink their standard fare. Family-friendly movies, especially animated ones, have brought people to the movies who haven’t gone in years. And they will...
  • Stolen Honor Distribution Plea to Carlton Sherwood (Vanity)

This is a personal plea to Carlton Sherwood to allow free downloads of his documentary "Stolen Honor" to be shared by all.  I would like everyone who is undecided to see this compelling documentary.  We need to burn hundreds of thousands of VCD's and hand out at shopping malls, town squares, and share on P2P networks.  We can do much more to get people to see this than the web site www.stolenhonor.com could ever do.  100 blank CD's cost about $10, and I and my friends would be willing to spend hundreds to burn the documentary and handout in the...

LOS ANGELES, April 2, 2004—Jody Eldred Productions today announced it has just completed filming and is in the final stages of production on an inspirational documentary called, “Changed Lives: Miracles of The Passion,” which will air nationwide Easter weekend. With rave reviews from Diane Sawyer on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and Joe Scarborough on MSNBC’s “Scarborough Country,” this one-hour T.V. special was shot in High Definition and documents the true stories of people whose lives have been forever changed by Mel Gibson’s incredible motion picture “The Passion of The Christ.” “I knew instantly that people’s lives were going to be...
