Today, senior law enforcement officials from the United States, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras announced criminal charges in Central America against more than 700 members of transnational criminal organizations, primarily MS-13 and 18th Street gangs, which resulted from a one-week coordinated law enforcement action under Operation Regional
  • Formally recognize AntiFa as a terrorist organization

    08/19/2017 8:22:03 PM PDT · by ThinkingBuddha · 45 replies
Terrorism is defined as “the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims”. This definition is the same definition used to declare ISIS and other groups, as terrorist organizations. AntiFa has earned this title due to its violent actions in multiple cities and their influence in the killings of multiple police officers throughout the United States. It is time for the pentagon to be consistent in its actions – and just as they rightfully declared ISIS a terror group, they must declare AntiFa a terror group – on the grounds of principle, integrity, morality, and safety.

An Obama administration official has floated the idea that Bowe Bergdahl was justified in deserting his platoon in Afghanistan and joining the Taliban over disagreements with the platoon's leadership. Brandon Friedman, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs for the Department of Housing and Urban Development posted a series of tweets Wednesday evening in which he speculated that Bergdahl deserted over bad leadership of his platoon and that is why his fellow soldiers were smearing him."Here's the thing about Bergdahl and the Jump-to-Conclusions mats: What if his platoon was long on psychopaths and short on leadership? (1/5)"" What if he grew...

SALT LAKE CITY — Mike Otterson, head of the LDS Church's Public Affairs Department, has a message for those in the media who persist in referring to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a "cult": "expect to be challenged." Writing in the Washington Post's "On Faith" blog, Otterson asserts that the words continues to crop up in news stories about Mormonism because "it's a neat, shorthand and rather lazy way of putting a whole group into a box." From the archive Looking for understanding in the Mormon spotlight – July 1, 2011 LDS public affairs rep responds...

The Jewish Agency And Why Does Israel PR Fail? By Joel Leyden Israel News Agency Jerusalem, Israel ---- December 17, 2010 ...... Just a few days ago I applied for the position of VP Marketing Communications for the Jewish Agency. Within 48 hours I was told that I that I was too late to apply. They were interviewing "finalists". Is one ever too late to apply for a job? That is until someone is actually made an offer and signs a contract? No. It was an excuse. Was I disappointed? Yes. Was I angry? Yes. But not for the obvious...

California government has changed dramatically over the last 15 years. Everything from term limits to restrictions on political campaign contributions has changed the way the business of politics works. Meanwhile, technological changes have altered the media business and fundamentally changed the way California citizens receive their information. These factors have all changed the way the state’s public affairs and political campaign industry operates. New super firms like California Strategies and Mercury Public Affairs, have appeared on the political landscape, snatching up former legislative leaders and seasoned political staffers to help build up their client lists. Much of the work these...

It’s the time of year when long-suffering tuition-poor parents get primped up and drive countless miles to stew in summer’s heat, sitting on excruciatingly uncomfortable folding wooden seats on damp fields, gnats biting at their ankles and ears. They do this for one reason: to see their offspring get their long-hoped-for diplomas. (After which the detritus collected over four or more years gets piled into the car with the offspring and returned home.)

There should be plenty of parking room inside the parking garage at the Palmer Events Center, that place is huge. Clinton is in town to give a fundraising speech at 7:30 PM for the Center for Public Priorities, a liberal group that lobbies for bigger government. We will meet at the entrance to the Palmer Event Center on Barton Springs Road across from Vinny's Cafe and...

On March 26, an Iraqi special-forces unit attacked a building on the outskirts of northeast Baghdad, where they had tracked a group of terrorists. They had good reason to do so, because three members of the unit had been kidnapped by the terrorists, and were savagely tortured and killed. Their fingers and toes were cut off, their joints were penetrated with an electric drill, and they were eviscerated while still alive. It later...

A new global poll reinforces the perception that Americans, as a whole, are far more religious than Europeans. The Associated Press teaming up with Washington, D.C., firm Ipsos-Public Affairs, found that 86 percent of Americans and Mexicans consider religion to be "important" in their lives, but that only 43 percent of residents in the United Kingdom and 37 percent of those in France have a similar attitude. The survey involved 1,000 respondents from ten countries -- Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Nearly 20 percent of Frenchmen and South Koreans...

Our (Israel) Newspapers Fail Us - (UPDATED) September 28, 2003 Editorial - Israel News Agency "Over at the Jerusalem Post, Israel's venerable English language daily newspaper, rumblings of publisher/staff dissatisfaction are being heard loud and clear. Long-time managing editor, Avi Hoffman was fired last week after he recommended pulling an ad that included language he felt would expose Israel to charges of war crimes. New Post editor Bret Stephens apparently agreed. Publisher Tom Rose was furious and ordered Hoffman fired. The full page ad appeared last Friday. According to Aviv Lavie writing in the rival Haaretz English edition, senior staff...

Our Newspapers Fail Us Editorial - Israel News Agency There is no public relations or public affairs without a carrier. The most established carrier is called a newspaper. And in Israel the only newspapers which enjoy abundant readership and wealth are the Hebrew dailies – Yediot, Maariv and Haaertz. As for the English newspapers here in Israel – one is a mere translation of the Hebrew edition and the other is fifty percent wire service copy. Yes – there are some brilliant writers on these papers but their voices become deluded when you have a lack of proper leadership integrated...
