November 16, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Eight months ago, the pro-life organization Live Action uploaded a three-minute video clip of a young woman giving an extraordinarily powerful testimony about being raped and becoming pregnant. Jennifer Christie explained to the Iowa legislature that she’d been brutally raped while on a business trip, her bruised body flung into a stairwell after the attack. Despite the horrors she’d endured, she was not speaking for crime victims, she said. Rather, she was speaking for the 32,000 women who become pregnant after rape—and the 75% of those women “who give our children life.†Christie was representing Save...

The Department of Education has issued its long-awaited proposed regulations reforming sexual-assault adjudications on college campus. Not only will these rules restore basic due process and fairness to college tribunals, but they also — given how basic the changes are — highlight just how ridiculous university kangaroo courts have become. First and perhaps most important, the rules will not only require colleges to permit cross-examination of witnesses (including the accuser), but will also prohibit universities from relying on the statements of any witness who refuses to submit to cross-examination. Cross-examination is so fundamental to adversary proceedings that it’s is simply...

A 25-year-old woman has been gang raped by Africans in a playground in central Stockholm. The woman contacted the police herself on Friday, who then arrested the three men the same evening. The arrest warrants show that the men are 18, 20 and 29 years old. Two are citizens of Somalia and the third in Eritrea. One of them needs interpreting in Somali and another in Arabic. Which means that they most likely are newly arrived migrants. Two of them are previously convicted. The 18-year-old has committed assaults and drug offences. The 20-year-old is convicted of several cases of theft...

Illinois last year enacted a Bail Reform Law intended to make bail affordable for poor people. Kim Geiger of the Chicago Tribune explained at the time of passage: …the new law creates new rights for people in custody at Illinois jails and aims to move away from requiring people charged with relatively minor crimes to post cash bail as a condition of their release. The legislation reflects a general consensus among criminal justice advocates, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart, and Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx that the state's cash bail system is unfair to poor people. Under the previous...

The Supreme Court spent a gruesome hour Tuesday debating a constitutional way to execute a Missouri man who has a rare medical condition, with the likely decider, new justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, joining the court’s liberals with tough questions for the state. Modern and ancient execution methods — a firing squad, electrocution, hanging, lethal gas, being burned at the stake — all made appearances during the court’s sober assessment of ways to kill Russell Bucklew without violating the Constitution’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment. Missouri plans to use an injection of a single drug, pentobarbital, to carry out the...

The Department of Education is looking to impose new federal guidelines that would require schools to allow the cross-examination of accusers in sexual assault cases, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with a draft of the rules. The new rules would be a shift from the initial draft leaked in August, which had given schools the option of using cross-examination in their procedures, but did not require it, according to the Journal. The draft of the new rules would mandate that accused students be allowed to cross-examine their accusers, but allows for the questions to be asked by...

HARARE, Zimbabwe — A new documentary on massacres by Zimbabwe's military … The screening in the capital, Harare, would have been almost impossible under former leader Robert Mugabe, who led the country for 37 years and resigned following military intervention in November. President Emmerson Mnangagwa, a longtime Mugabe loyalist and enforcer who succeeded him, has tolerated documentaries and plays critical of the government amid promises of a "flowering of democracy." But none has taken such direct aim at Mnangagwa as the new documentary on the army operation he supported as state security minister between 1983 and 1987. "Gukurahundi genocide: 36...

In it, Professor Macleod also estimated there are 3,300 paedophiles working for the world body’s various...

Second wave feminism, edgy, in-your-face, bra-burning feminism reached its crescendo in the late sixties and early seventies. The Pill hit the market at the same time which immediately opened a brave new world – a world where sex was de-coupled from reproduction. Almost overnight, marriage and motherhood were deemed to be “below” the aspirations of young girls who were encouraged to pursue careers rather than eligible men. Gloria Steinem’s Ms. magazine was at the forefront of this movement. Marriage was out, children were out, free love was in, and it was definitely fun while it lasted. Soon, however, feminism...

The View co-host and ABC legal analyst Sunny Hostin made an outrageous argument on Thursday’s show that should raise eyebrows. Discussing Melania Trump’s comments stating we needed evidence when accusations of sexual assault are made, Hostin grew irate after co-hosts Abby Huntsman and Meghan McCain defended the need for due process. Objecting to the need for supporting evidence of any kind, Hostin gushed, “A woman’s word is enough!” After playing the clip of Mrs. Trump, Hostin bashed the First Lady for doing “so much damage” in arguing that a woman’s word alone was not enough to put someone in jail:...

Dear Professor Christine Blasey Ford, Like millions of women, I watched you testify about the worst day of your life. Millions of us identified with your fear and wondered if we would be brave enough to wrestle ourselves past that grip of terror if we were in your shoes. Millions of us watched how you held onto the tears that wanted to come up; we know where that place is in the body — the place that pushes down on the rising tide of remembered pain. We know how hard that is. We’ve been holding onto our tears for a...

I am a mom of two. The beautiful girl who made me a mom is almost 6 years old. That same beautiful girl was conceived in a rape. As soon as I saw the positive pregnancy test, I thought abortion was the answer. Abortion is “always the answer” when a woman is raped, isn’t it? In fact, I was working as a nanny and my employer told me I would have to abort if I wanted to keep my job because she didn’t want her children to see me “like that.” I went to the pregnancy resource centre here in...
