A Las Vegas pastor was murdered in front of his family following a feud with a neighbor over the chickens and dogs she kept in her property A disturbing image shows the moment Grace Point Church pastor Nick Davi, 46, was fatally shot his female neighbor Joe Junio, 36, who also wounded his wife Sarah Davi on December 29. The shooting happened after Junio had allegedly harassed the family for weeks, throwing feces on their backyard, flooding their home, and issuing threats after the Davis complained to the gated community's homeowner's association. During one of the incidents, Junio allegedly 'ran...

The recent $1.8 billion jury verdict against the National Association of Realtors and several top brokerage firms highlights mounting legal and market pressures on real estate commissions. A recent Keefe, Bruyette & Woods analyst report estimated that the $100 billion paid in real-estate commissions annually could be cut by 30%, with as many as 1.6 million agents losing their source of income. Commissions are already negotiable, but buyers agents are likely losers as homebuyers are more likely to bypass them, or in the least, negotiate for lower fees. A recent jury verdict against the National Association of Realtors and large...

“I don’t feel like Texas is my home anymore,” Lewis said simply. He ended up selling his home through a real estate service launched last summer by the Dallas-based broker, Bob McCranie, who sought to help LGBTQ+ people list their homes in Texas and then connect them with an agent in another state or even a different country where they’d like to go next. McCranie initially called it “Flee Texas,” but soon changed the name to reflect a broader group of people expressing interest in the service. “What we discovered was we got so much response from other states that...

A Florida realtor was stunned to find a nude couple romping in the pool of a property she was preparing to show a client, police said. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported the startled agent pulled up to the empty home in Davenport on Dec. 5 and saw a mysterious car in the driveway around 9:45 a.m. Knowing that no one was authorized to be on the property, the suspicious broker called 911. Responding deputies found a naked and unafraid couple cavorting in the home’s pool. The uninhibited intruders told officers that they had specifically come to the property to...

SOUTH FLORIDA — A South Florida Realtor recently lost his drone after an alligator ate it. Rob Rosetto with Rosetto Realty Group in Boca Raton shared a short video of the hungry gator jumping out of the water to snatch the drone mid-air on social media. (Watch the video below.) “Well, there goes my drone,” he wrote in a Sept. 24 Instagram post. “Damn alligator actually just ate it!” In the video, a group watching the gator erupts into laughter and cheers when it chomps down on the drone. A man’s voice can be heard saying, “That’s not funny.”

As Texas becomes a hotbed of anti-LGBTQ laws targeting transgender youth and their families, Bob McCranie, a gay realtor in Dallas, has launched Flee Texas, a website that helps families find homes in more accepting states. “As LGBTQIA+ citizens of Texas, many of us feel at risk,” the website says. “If you feel the need to leave the jurisdiction of Texas, let us help you sell your property here and connect you with an LGBTQIA or ally agent in a better location of your choice.” The website helps poeple sell their homes and connects them with LGBTQ and supportive realtors...

A real estate agent in Florida hunted down homeless men, according to authorities out of Miami. Officials call Willy Suarez Maceo, 25, a serial killer. He was originally arrested in December for only the attempted murder charge, but officials announced their updated case to include two counts of first-degree murder on Friday. His alleged M.O. was to roll through the city in his black Dodge Charger, attacking nearby victims. Footage showed him back on Oct. 16 parking his vehicle near where he fatally stabbed a man in downtown Miami, authorities said in a WSVN report. Surveillance video showed him walking...

In January 2017, Igor Danchenko, a primary source for the Steele dossier, told FBI officials in a debriefing that one of his sources for derogatory information about Donald Trump’s alleged ties to Russia was merely an anonymous voice on the other end of a phone call that lasted 10-15 minutes. The voice, Danchenko claimed, was someone he assumed to be Sergei Millian, an immigrant from Belarus, president and founder of an organization called the Russian-American Chamber of Commerce. As thin as that sourcing sounds, the truth appears to be worse. According to a new criminal indictment, Danchenko lied to FBI...

Two major websites used by homebuyers to search for properties to move into have decided that ignorance is bliss when it comes to crime statistics. As noted by Stacey Matthews on Legal Insurrection, Realtor.com and redfin.com decided on the same day that providing crime information on neighborhoods would promote racial bias. Helping families avoid moving to a house or condo in a dangerous crime-ridden neighborhood is far less important to them than virtue-signaling their trendy "anti-racism."Apparently, they both have forgotten the ancient maxim "caveat emptor" — "let the buyer beware." I am not certain how to render "let the buyer...

Two real estate sites, Realtor.com and Redfin, have decided not to include crime data in their websites because of racism or something… The idiots at Realtor.com explained it this way: As a relative newcomer to the real estate industry, I’ve been struck by how entrenched this problem is. Stories abound about Black, Hispanic and Asian homebuyers receiving unequal treatment, starting with their ability to see whatever homes they like, and continuing through to the appraisal and mortgage processes. At virtually every step of the way, too often people of color find hurdles in their path, making it difficult to turn...

Jenna Ryan seemed like an unlikely participant in the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. She was a real estate agent from Texas. She flew into Washington on a private jet. And she was dressed that day in clothes better suited for a winter tailgate than a war. Yet Ryan, 50, is accused of rushing into the Capitol past broken glass and blaring security alarms and, according to federal prosecutors, shouting: “Fight for freedom! Fight for freedom!” But in a different way, she fit right in. Despite her outward signs of success, Ryan had struggled financially for...

Say the wrong thing on Facebook and lose your license and your business. Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism. The National Association of Realtors claims to have 1.4 million members. There will be fewer members before long as the association begins purging conservative real estate agents. At the center of the storm was an addition to Article 10 which covers various forms of discrimination. But unlike all the previous sections which addressed how real estate professionals interacted with customers, Article 10-5 is...

“Real estate brokers and agents invest resources into obtaining property listings,” wrote NAR, which counts 1.3 million real estate agents as members. As such, NAR said agents have “rights and responsibilities to control the distribution of their listings.” Any “appropriation of a commercial entity’s data, work product, or intellectual property for exploitation by another commercial entity is not justified,” NAR added. But while Zillow argued for the “democratization” of data, NAR said calls for greater access to MLS data are “based on faulty expectations that unrestricted access to listing data will help consumers.” Instead, NAR said, “forcing brokers to provide...

Hundreds of robot realtors are helping Bay Area renters find new homes Mark Austin — Posted on January 6, 2018 Some potential renters in California meet an unusual assistant when they show up for a tour of their new dream home — a robot realtor named “Zenny” that gives a tour of the house, wirelessly connected to high-tech property management startup Zenplace. The Mercury News recently followed one prospective buyer as he checked out a place in Santa Clara. “I wasn’t expecting a robot,” chuckled Gilbert Serrano as he arrived at the two-bedroom rental house. The three-foot-tall robot had an...
