Elizabeth Edwards says her husband would be a better advocate for women as president than his rival Hillary Rodham Clinton. The wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards says keeping a door open to women is more a policy of her husband's than Clinton's. Edwards says she sympathizes with Clinton, who is running to be the first female president. She says she faced challenges early in her career as a female lawyer and says she understands the pressures Clinton must feel.
