The video shows the robot solving the Rubik's Cube at times of 1.196 seconds, 1.152 seconds, 1.047 seconds and 1.019 seconds, as the machine displayed not just extreme speed in the task, but also consistency in keeping the solving time between 1 second and 1.2 seconds. The machine is built using 3D-printed frames, stepper motors, and four USB web cameras that are connected to a PC. The cameras scan the Rubik's Cube to begin analyzing the puzzle through the Kociemba solving algorithm, and the solution is then carried out by the robot in lightning fast movements. The Rubik's Cube being...

From the video description: Speedsolving the Rubik's Cube while freefalling from 4300 meters, sitting in a rubber boat. This is the first attempt and worked really well - I solved the cube in about 31,5 seconds. I started right after exit and was finished at about 2500 meters. At 2300 meters I accidentally slipped out of the boat. The skydive was videotaped by five cameras (two on-board, three outside the boat). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuNOvlqJ1IU

The inventor of the Rubik's Cube is about to confound the world with a new puzzle called The 360, an executive at Rubik brand said in England. "It doesn't need batteries and looks as though it should be quite easy," said David Hedley, the brand's vice president. "But it is incredibly complicated. There are some really cunning tricks to it." The 360, which goes on sale next week, was invented by Erno Rubik, 64, the reclusive Hungarian professor who has sold an estimated 350 million Rubik Cubes since 1980, The Daily Telegraph reported Monday. With Rubik's new game, players must...

In what is claimed to be the world's first, a 28-year-old man has helped his wife deliver a baby successfully with online assistance from a popular video- sharing site. Marc Stephens delivered his baby son after watching ‘Do It Yourself’ baby birth video clips on YouTube on March 21, The Daily Telegraph reported. The naval engineer, who already has three children with his wife Jo, also 28, decided to search the internet as she felt some discomfort. Four hours later, when Jo went into sudden labour and the couple was told by hospital staff that no midwife was available, he...

Dan Knights has about 150 pounds and a few gazillion brain cells on his Rubik's Cube, but it's not always clear who has the upper hand in the relationship.

Like some kind of time-traveling ambassador from 1982, the 24-year-old takes his cube everywhere, whether he's visiting a friend or his favorite cafe or just walking down the sidewalk near his North Beach home.
