Political Clout: The Kennedys no longer have a family member in Congress, but their undue influence can still pressure a high-profile cable channel to suppress an unflattering $25 million biopic.

Since 2007, A&E's History Channel has lured younger viewers and a bigger audience with reality series like "UFO Hunters." Sadly, the channel has axed a miniseries that was a cinch to give the History Channel its highest ratings ever.

My very own presence is upon you now , For you have forsaken a sacred cow (flesh) , And in this release you have found my glory instead there , And now it is your covering as hair , My spiritual Samson truly you are , Now disperse the Delilahs push them away far ! For truly they are not helping you or even care ! For all they desire is to cut your hair , They believe they walk in all you know ,(Numbers16:7) So now is the time to let them go , For if you stay your...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: They sent me a note yesterday and they wanted my take on their premise. I said the premise is flawed, it's a bunch of BS, and it's totally predictable. The Politico wanted me to talk to them about the fact that there were Republicans running around saying the Tea Party is responsible for the fact they didn't pick up the Senate. I'm not gonna comment on that. I'm gonna comment on it today because they got the story out there, it begs being placed in context, and of course nobody better than I, nobody better than me...

Representative Bob Etheridge (D-NC) was recently videotaped assaulting a student reporter on the sidewalk. The student’s offense: asking him a question about his stance on “the Obama agenda.” Etheridge has brushed aside charges that he has broken the law and insists that he was “within my Constitutional rights” in the incident. While Etheridge’s behavior would appear to fall within the legal definition of felony assault, the Representative claims he is Constitutionally exempt from any charges under Article I, Section 6 of the US Constitution. “The Constitution says that a member of Congress ‘shall not be questioned in any other place,’”...

AFP - A senior minister on Sunday warned that Israel would "liquidate" the Islamist Hamas-run government in Gaza following deadly weekend clashes that killed two Israeli soldiers. "Sooner or later we will liquidate the military regime of the pro-Iranian Hamas which controls the Gaza Strip," Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, from the governing rightwing Likud party, told public radio. "I am not setting a timetable, but we will not tolerate this regime continuing to strengthen itself militarily and providing itself with an arsenal of rockets that threaten our territory," he added.

Scolding Americans for our various sins is proving popular among an elite group of self-appointed moralists. Take well-meaning environmentalists who warn us that our plush lifestyles heat up and pollute the planet. To listen to former vice president Al Gore or New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, we must immediately curtail our carbon emissions — or face planetary destruction. Yet these influential prophets of doom do not have lives remotely similar to the lesser folk they lecture. From time to time, Al Gore hops on a private jet — and purchases “carbon offsets” as penances for the privilege. His mansion...

As Inauguration Day approaches and Barack Obama prepares to assume his first term as president, some in Congress are hoping to make it possible for the Democrat to not only seek a second term in office, but a third and fourth as well. The U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary is considering a bill that would repeal the Constitution's 22nd Amendment prohibiting a president from being elected to more than two terms in office. Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y., earlier this month introduced the bill, H. J. Res. 5, which, according to the bill's language, proposes "an amendment to the Constitution...

HARRISBURG -- If the grand jury is correct, the 12 people indicted in a sprawling political corruption case aren't just the center of a court battle. They're the opening shots of a cultural conflict. The grand jury empanelled by state Attorney General Tom Corbett portrayed Suite 626 in the state Capitol as the center of a taxpayer-financed political machine aimed at helping former Rep. Mike Veon and other House Democrats get re-elected. Allegations in the 90-page report, anticipated for more than a year by state lawmakers and their employees, are "a symbolic event of a much larger picture," said...

NO, RUSH, WE DIDN'T HEAR IT FROM YOU FIRST. We read it HERE first. YES: we are establishing a permanent under-class... YES: we are establishing a permanent ruling class... Rember the name of your senator and representative... you will be reading that name for a long time; then their children will step up and rule us. The only thing that will change the names over time is when they screw up and get caught draining off our wealth for themselves - perhaps like the present case of William Jefferson (D., La) ... although it should be noted that, despite two...

£220bn stolen by Nigeria's corrupt rulers By David Blair in Abuja (Filed: 25/06/2005) The scale of the task facing Tony Blair in his drive to help Africa was laid bare yesterday when it emerged that Nigeria's past rulers stole or misused £220 billion. That is as much as all the western aid given to Africa in almost four decades. The looting of Africa's most populous country amounted to a sum equivalent to 300 years of British aid for the continent. The figures, compiled by Nigeria's anti-corruption commission, provide dramatic evidence of the problems facing next month's summit in Gleneagles of the...

EPA Clean Air rules take effect in EastRule mandates cuts in emissions over next decade By Stephanie I. Cohen, MarketWatch Last Update: 12:19 PM ET May 12, 2005 WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - New federal air rules took effect Thursday that require eastern states to reduce harmful emissions from coal-burning power plants that dirty the air of other states located "downwind" of the pollution sources. The Clean Air Interstate Rule, or CAIR rule, was published in the Federal Register Thursday, kicking off a timeline to clean up the air in 28 states and the District of Columbia by making permanent cuts in...

Until modern times, there existed no form of legitimacy in the Middle East outside of Islam. Rulers ruled in the name of God; assassins struck them down in the name of God. The assassinations of the early caliphs and the struggle between the Sunni rulers and the Assassins in the Middle Ages took precisely this form: each side claimed to act in accord with divine will, revealed in divine texts. Religion played a crucial role in the rationale of assassination, but it also played a crucial role in the rationale of government, law, and warfare—indeed, of everything. This invocation of...

[Qx emphasis added] WARNING, RULERS OF THE EARTH * by Lou Engle HERE: http://elijahrevolution.com/er2 Warning Rulers of the Earth I recently had what I believe is a profound prophetic experience. I was preaching in an African American church in San Francisco when a tall man and his entourage entered the room. With every eye on him, he made his way to the front row and sat down. I did not know who he was, but after I finished preaching, the pastor introduced him as the mayor of San Francisco! He then asked me to pray for him. The Spirit of...

Westerners often meet with assorted officials who, they are led to believe, run Islamist Iran. They don't. Chris Patten, the British politician who handles part of the European Union's foreign policy, complains that when talking to Iranian officials, he has the feeling that they are "messenger boys." Long before him, Roland Dumas, France's foreign minister in the 1980s, had reached a similar conclusion. The Iranian officials we talked to turned out to be actors playing the roles of officials," he commented years later. In the next few weeks as a new cabinet is approved by the newly elected Islamic Consultative...

The al-Qa'ida-backed bombings in Saudi Arabia at the weekend, and President George W. Bush's landmark speech on the US's new determination to promote democracy in the Middle East, represent a potentially decisive moment in the history of the Middle East. For decades, US policy towards the Middle East has rested on two pillars: support for Israel and support for stability in the region. While urging its Arab allies to behave better on human rights, Washington has historically not pressured them to democratise. As a result, it has been seen by the regional populations to be supporting dictators. It is easy...
