Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says the site of the devastating train derailment in Ohio is a “potential crime scene,” blasting House Republicans for not holding a hearing on the incident. “This committee needs to hold a hearing on the derailment in East Palestine,” the New York Democrat said during a House Oversight and Accountability hearing Thursday, as the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee grilled the CEO of Norfolk Southern. “This is not just a disaster site. It is a potential crime scene.” The federal government continues to deal with the fallout of the derailment of a train carrying toxic chemicals...

After reviewing real-time transcripts and audio from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, along with Firefighters; it is shocking to realize the Las Vegas massacre was a mass shooting event with multiple shooters. Not long after real-time audio events between the police and firefighters, the mainstream news media began a false narrative that Stephen Paddock was a “lone wolf.” Although civilians and police officers alike were eye witnesses reporting multiple shooters on the ground, the “handlers” leaped over actual eye witness reports to establish a fictitious narrative that would dominate mainstream news media. The media was obviously sent orders to...

I am looking for a scene in one of the Star Trek (Next Generation) episodes. The scene has members of the crew going to the Doctor's (I think - maybe another character) room to look for a strand of hair to use to replicate her DNA. She is not on the ship and something has happened to the transporter. I can't remember all the details. I teach forensic science and want to use this for my class. If you know which episode, please let me know. Thanks for any help.

U.N. Special Envoy to Haiti Bill Clinton was stunned by the devastation. The former president remained hopeful that Haiti can recover and vowed to fight for more aid. PORT-AU-PRINCE -- As the United States moved to take over Haitian government-run aid distribution centers Monday, a teary-eyed former President Bill Clinton saw first-hand the destructive scars of Haiti's biggest natural disaster.

What was supposed to be a quiet protest turned into a scene this afternoon. It all began with some local moveon.org members who wanted to get the word out about alternative fuels. The traffic on Civic Center Drive during rush hour Wednesday muffled the words of protesters, but that didn't stop them from voicing their opinions. Moveon.org member Lyle Abrahamson organized the protest in Rochester for their national event, "A Day of Action for an Oil-Free President." Lyle Abrahamson says, "We're out here showing our support for Obama because we believe that he truly will bring what we call change."...

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A Missouri legislator was charged with a felony Thursday for allegedly driving away after hitting a pedestrian with his pickup truck. Authorities say state Rep. Brad Robinson was driving the truck that hit a 46-year-old man south of St. Louis in the early hours of New Year's Day. His wife, Tara, had told police she was driving, but authorities say a high school's surveillance camera captured the couple switching seats in the truck moments after the accident. The Democratic lawmaker from Bonne Terre was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, and could get up...

7/9/2006 - MCCHORD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. (AFPN) -- A head-on collision on Washington's State Route 101 between Sequim and Port Angeles July 3 brought out the heroism in 12 strangers who stopped to help. One of those heroes was Tech. Sgt. Phillip White, a reservist with the 446th Airlift Wing here. Sergeant White was with his family when a Ford Explorer carrying a family of four crossed the center line of the road and hit a Toyota 4Runner carrying another family of four. "There was no thinking involved, it was just instantaneous -- kids, burning car, get them out,"...

First nativity scene on show after 500 years By Hilary Clarke in Rome (Filed: 05/12/2005) Some of Rome's most sacred artworks - the 700-year-old marble figurines from the world's first known nativity scene - are to leave their crypt for the first time this Christmas after a major restoration. They were made by Arnolfo di Cambio, the gothic sculptor and architect, in around 1290. The figure of Mary, however, is much younger, having been added 300 years later. It is not known if there was an original depiction of the Virgin. For the past 500 years the figures have been...

10/17/2005 - TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. (AFPN) -- When thrust into a surreal situation, three Airmen here stepped up and showed that people can do extraordinary things. It was around 1 a.m. Oct. 16 when Senior Airmen Brooke and Marc Llafet and Matt Ritchie were driving home from Fort Walton Beach, Fla. In the car with them were Airman Marc Llafet's sister and her friend. Before they got to Highway 98, Airman Ritchie saw a large truck ahead of them swerving all over the road. He pointed it out to the others. "This guy was driving recklessly," said Airman...

Archaeologists uncover scene of human sacrificeA gruesome sight has met archaeologists engaged in excavations in central China - an altar devoted to human sacrifice, complete with the remains of an unfortunate victim. The discovery of the 7,000-year-old cult site, near Hongjiang city in Hunan province, may make it necessary to rewrite history, as it is the earliest human sacrificial site ever found in China. According to local media, the fact that the sacrificial venue contained the skeleton of a human left no doubt in the archaeologists' minds what its original use had been. Nearby was a separate sacrificial site for...

DO YOU watch CSI? It is a question heard in an increasing number of jury selection hearings across the US. The hit television series Crime Scene Investigation, in which brilliant forensic scientists solve seemingly baffling cases each week in little more than 40 minutes, is changing the face of American justice as jurors apply the lessons of what they have seen on TV to real-life criminal trials. A decade ago, the kind of physical and forensic evidence used in the OJ Simpson trial baffled many viewers. Today, educated by what they believe they have learned from TV, it is the...

For vivid reporting from the enormous zone of tsunami disaster, it was hard to beat the blogs. The so-called blogosphere, with its personal journals published on the Web, has become best known as a forum for bruising political discussion and media criticism. But the technology proved a ready medium for instant news of the tsunami disaster and for collaboration over ways to help. There was the simple photo of a startlingly blue boat smashed against a beachside palm in Jaffna. "Every house and fishing boat has been smashed, the entire length of the east coast," wrote Fred Robart, who posted...
