A school in Mississippi is dropping its connection to the American Confederacy's only president, Jefferson Davis, and renaming itself after President Barack Obama. Davis International Baccalaureate Elementary School in Jackson will be renamed Barack Obama Magnet IB following a vote. The managers of a Whataburger location in Denison, Texas, have fired an employee Saturday after she refused to serve two police officers. The Dallas Morning News reports that the female employee claimed the reason she refused to serve the officers was because Denison police officers allegedly “beat up” her boyfriend. Banks may just be a target of the past after a South Texas man allegedly stole $1.2 million worth of fajitas over nine years. According to The Brownsville Herald, Gilbert Escaramilla was arrested after authorities found packages of the food in his fridge. Investigators say Escaramilla was intercepting county-funded food deliveries, and then going on to deliver them to his customers. The scheme imploded when he missed a day of work and 800 pounds of fajitas were delivered to his former job at the Juvenile Justice Department. Escaramilla has been arrested on felony theft charges.
