Archaeologists have uncovered the 250-year-old kitchen of Thomas Jefferson's enslaved chef, James Hemings, who introduced mac and cheese and meringues into US culture. Hemings became the property of Thomas Jefferson in January of 1774 when he was just nine years old. His younger sister is Sally Hemings, who had six children believed to have been fathered by Jefferson after the death of his wife Martha Jefferson. Growing up, Hemings was one of Jefferson's favorite servants and even accompanied him to Paris, France, in 1784. In France, Hemings learned the art of French cookery and upon their return to America, he...

The managers of a Whataburger location in Denison, Texas, have fired an employee Saturday after she refused to serve two police officers. The Dallas Morning News reports that the female employee claimed the reason she refused to serve the officers was because Denison police officers allegedly “beat up” her boyfriend. Denison Police Chief Jay Burch wrote in a Facebook post that these allegations were untrue and that no one was injured while they were carrying out a routine arrest. The female employee reportedly swore at the officers while the on-duty manager told the officers, “I don’t get into politics,” according...

Larry Flynt’s ad in the Sunday edition of The Washington Post is hard to miss. For one, it takes up a full page. And there are no pictures — just bold, all-caps text dominating the top third of the page: “$10 MILLION FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE IMPEACHMENT AND REMOVAL FROM OFFICE OF DONALD J. TRUMP.” Flynt, best known as the publisher of the pornographic magazine Hustler, outlined numerous reasons he felt President Trump needed to be removed from office, charging him with everything from “compromising domestic and foreign policy with his massive conflicts-of-interest global business empire” to “telling hundreds...

Colin Kaepernick has filed a grievance under the collective bargaining agreement for collusion against NFL team owners, reports Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report. Kaepernick has hired high-profile attorney Mark Geragos and is preparing to release a statement about his grievance soon, added Freeman. The free-agent quarterback has remained unemployed since his release by the San Francisco 49ers in March and has garnered little interest from teams around the league. This has caused some to suggest he's being blackballed for his national anthem protests during the 2016 season.

The founder and publisher of Hustler, Larry Flynt, is offering a $10 million reward to anyone who can come forward with dirt that could lead to the impeachment of President Donald Trump. Fox Business anchor Liz Claman tweeted a photo of the full-page ad that is set to run in Sunday’s Washington Post, which was subsequently retweeted by Flynt. “Impeachment would be a messy, contentious affair, but the alternative—three more years of destabilizing dysfunction—is worse,” notes the ad. “Both good Democrats and good Republicans who put country over party did it before with Watergate. To succeed, impeachment requires unimpeachable evidence....
