Sen. Barbara Boxer, the pro-abortion, pro-same-sex marriage liberal firebrand first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1992, now finds herself in a tough reelection battle in November 2010, a recently published Field Poll reveals. The Field Poll, published March 18, shows Boxer trailing Republican challenger Tom Campbell 44% to 43%, with 13% undecided. Boxer holds a narrow 45% to 44% over Republican Carly Fiorina, and a 45% to 41% lead over Chuck Devore, also a Republican. As a consequence of the poll numbers, political observers are now calling the race a dead heat. (... read more at link)

San Francisco, CA -- According to the non-partisan Field Poll, 57 year old Tom Campbell has a six point lead in his effort to defeat California Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer. Campbell has 28 percent of the vote as compared to 22 percent for former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina. Assemblyman Chuck DeVore has but nine percent support. At the same time 40 percent of the Republicans polled have yet to make a decision on who they will vote for November 8. On the flip-side Boxer may in for the race of her life according to the poll which shows both Campbell...

"Emboldened Republicans have trio of candidates set to vie for Senate seat" After pulling off a Massachusetts miracle, Republicans are plotting a California coup. Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown's improbable victory in a special election for the Senate seat liberal icon Ted Kennedy held for nearly 50 years has convinced national GOP leaders they are riding a tidal wave of voter dissatisfaction that could help them take down one of their prime targets, Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer. If a Republican can win in a liberal "blue" state like Massachusetts, the thinking goes, it can happen anywhere. And by anywhere, they mean...

“The men who have brought us this [amendment] don’t single out a procedure that is used by a man, or a drug that is used by a man, that involves his reproductive health care, and say they have to get a special rider...There is nothing in this amendment that says if a man some day wants to buy Viagra, for example, that his pharmaceutical coverage cannot cover it, that he has to buy a rider.” This is the latest drivel in the health care debate brought to the Senate floor by Barbara Boxer this past Monday in response to the...

......... while Boxer's popularity swings with the tides and rarely reaches beyond the magic 50% level. Every six years, Republicans believe that with just the right candidate and just the right amount of money, they can knock off the woman they love to hate. And they are heartened again by a new poll showing Boxer barely leading the most likely 2010 challenger, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina.

Don't know if you saw the TV news clip last week about Barbara Boxer admonishing a Brigadier General because he addressed her as Ma'am and not Senator before a Senate hearing. Anyway this is a letter from a Guard Aviator and Captain for Alaska Air Lines. He hits the nail directly on the head. Maybe we all should send a copy of this letter to the SENATOR Here is my final draft to Barbara Boxer. Please give it your widest dissemination. I want the world to know at least one scoundrel who masquerades as a wise solon and a congress...

Since Senator Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., reprimanded Brigadier General Michael Walsh for calling her "Ma'am" instead of "Senator," the blogosphere is taking swipes at the senator from California. While apology demanders should not hold their collective breaths anytime soon, here is a flashback from a February 22, 2007 San Francisco Chronicle piece:

The Senate Republican campaign operation is citing a Tuesday exchange between California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer and U.S. Army Gen. Michael Walsh in its latest fund-raising pitch to supporters. During a hearing before the Environment and Public Works Committee, Walsh referred to Boxer as “ma’am,” a moniker the chairwoman did not appreciate. “Do me a favor, can you say ’senator’ instead of ‘ma’am’?” Boxer said, interrupting the Army general. “It’s just a thing. I worked so hard to get that title, so I’d appreciate it. Thank you.” Smith responded: “Yes, senator.” In an email pitch to supporters, National Republican Senatorial...

In a press conference held earlier this week, Sen. Barbara Boxer, a persistent critic of President Bush, lambasted fellow Democrats and herself for being in such disarray on Iraq that she argued the effort to discredit Bush is fast disintegrating into "a disaster'' for Americans at home and the troops abroad. "Every day, there's another message. ... We don't seem to know what we're doing,'' she said during a news conference in San Francisco. "We are in a mess because we have no plan, and now it seems we don't even talk to each other. ... What's happening here is...

Boxer criticizes Iraq war in SF speech 'Our troops deserve more,' senator says Bay City News Wednesday, July 6, 2005 * Printable Version * Email This Article Sen. Barbara Boxer offered a major foreign policy speech on the war in Iraq before hundreds of her constituents in San Francisco today. The situation in Iraq is spiraling out of control, she said, and the pool of people willing to fight in the insurgency against American troop presence there seems bottomless. She described herself as "distressed, angry and frustrated'' over the continuing unrest in Iraq and the mounting death toll with no...

Communism is not dead in Latin America. In fact, the dominoes are falling south of the border, but no one seems to be noticing. “It’s a new day. Communism is dead. It’s even dead in Cuba.” So declared Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) at a Senate Commerce Committee hearing in May 2002. “I hate to say it,” she continued, “it’s dead.” The senator’s proclamation was a surprise, no doubt, to Fidel Castro, whose regime was (and is) alive and as Red as ever. It also must have come as welcome news to the people of Cuba, still suffering, after nearly half...

Petitions urge Boxer to raise vote challengeGroups hope senator will join House members who plan to question Electoral College results By Josh Richman, STAFF WRITER With the presidential election two months behind and Inauguration Day just 16 days away, some Northern Californians still aren't giving up the ghost. Protesters gathered Monday at the San Francisco office of U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., to deliver petitions urging her to challenge Thursday's congressional ratification of the Electoral College tally, based on alleged voting improprieties — voter intimidation and suppression, machine error, fraud and so on — in Ohio and other states. "We...
