Though voters are evenly divided over whether Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper deserves to be re-elected this November, he easily leads several potential Republican challengers, according to a new Quinnipiac poll. Fifty-two percent of Coloradoans approve of the Democrat’s performance as governor, 13 points more than disapprove. However, only 45 percent say he deserves a second term, the same percentage that believes he does not. n hypothetical matchups against a series of Republican opponents, however, Hickenlooper performs well. Voters prefer him over former Rep. Tom Tancredo, 48 percent-39 percent. Hickenlooper leads Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler, 46-40. And he bests...

Gov. John Hickenlooper called Thursday for a focus on bipartisanship in the 2014 legislative session, but Republicans can be forgiven for greeting his proposal with a certain skepticism. The 2013 legislative session, often described as the most liberal in state history, may have also been the most partisan. Democrats pushed through major legislation with no Republican votes on a half-dozen fronts, including election reform, gun control, education funding, and the rural renewable-energy standard. “It would be lovely if he behaved in a bipartisan manner, but that’s not what we saw last year,” said state Sen. Greg Brophy (R-Wray... ... This...

I received this in my inbox (email) and I don't know if it is possible to actually recall this governor, or if this is just campaign solicitation BUT if possible surely you all can try to recall your horrible Gov? (Disclaimer: I don't live in Colorado, but have family there)!~

Went to counter Bloomberg's anti-gun appearance today in Aurora, Colorado. I put most of the pics in the beginning and the videos after. I met a whole bunch of great guys. Had a blast.

Former U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo has become the latest Republican to announce plans to challenge Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper.

Tancredo said Thursday on radio station KHOW the last straw was a decision by Hickenlooper to delay the execution of convicted murderer of Nathan Dunlap, who killed four people in 1993. Tancredo said he is also upset with Hickenlooper's approval of sweeping gun legislation this year, including a law limiting the size of ammunition magazines.

Just found out from KHOW that Tom Tancredo is running for Governor of Colorado. I hope he kicks the living crap outta the Chickenpooper who just wussed out on Nathan Dunlap's death row sentence. Nathan Dunlap is the creep who shot up a bunch of people at a Chuck E Cheese in the early 1990's.

A U.S. ambassador is dead, and over 30 U.S. embassies across the globe are under violent attack as a direct result of President Obama’s attempted appeasement of radical Islam. How many more Americans will die before that policy can be reversed and Obama removed from office? Keep in mind that by international treaty and tradition, every embassy in a foreign nation is considered the sovereign soil of that nation. Climbing a wall and invading an embassy compound is the same as invading that country. The horrific events of Sept. 11, 2012, in Egypt and Benghazi were a logical and predictable...

July 4th used to be my favorite holiday. Now, not so much. What happened? Independence Day has always been a day to join friends and neighbors in the celebration of America’s greatness, its unparalleled achievements and its unbounded future. It was the one day it was cool to be a “super patriot,” and that was super cool. We used to celebrate what President Reagan called, “that shining city on a hill.” America was a beacon of hope and bastion of freedom, an example to the world – a beacon and an example not because of special history but because of...

“This should come as a surprise to absolutely no one. The radical Marxist-progressives (communists) took control of the democrat party some time ago. They’ve only become more emboldened with the election of Barack Obama, who was raised as a communist from birth.

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has picked up an endorsement from former Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo (tan-KRAY-doh). The failed gubernatorial and presidential candidate is a tea party favorite. Santorum was campaigning in Colorado on Wednesday ahead of next week's GOP caucuses there in hopes of building some momentum for his White House bid. Santorum also was endorsed Wednesday by former congressman Bob Shaffer and former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton.

Herman Cain would make a great president of the United States. He is my candidate, and he has a good chance of becoming the candidate of the Republican Party. Cain's only weakness is political inexperience, and that leads to mistakes in his campaign, but it is not a disqualification for the office. In fact, in the eyes of most voters, it is more a blessing than a curse. Based on my 30 years in public life, I see three qualifications for public office and for the office of president.

In a column for the Daily Caller, Tancredo, who ran twice for his party's presidential nomination in an effort to inject the illegal immigration issue into the larger debate, is slamming Perry for his soft policies on illegal immigration in Texas -- and what Tancredo calls his "Muslim blind spot." "What is not yet as widely known about Perry is that he extends his taxpayer-funded compassion not only to illegal aliens but also to Muslim groups seeking to whitewash the violent history of that religion," Tancredo writes. "Perry endorsed and facilitated the adoption in Texas public schools of a pro-Muslim...

On Saturday Texas Gov. Rick Perry is expected to announce whether or not he will run for president. Many now believe he will. Perry is eager to separate himself from his predecessor in the Texas governor’s mansion, George W. Bush — who is unpopular with both tea party Republicans and the American electorate as a whole. But one area where Perry’s positions are virtually identical to Bush is immigration. When I ran for president in 2008, I tried to pressure the Republican candidates to take a hard line against illegal immigration. For this, Perry called me a racist. When he...

I’m the first to acknowledge that among the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States, many are hardworking, law-abiding members of our society. A very small percentage were brought here by their parents, and did not choose to break the law themselves. The media endlessly reports on these hard cases to implicitly — and sometimes explicitly — promote bad laws, like the DREAM Act and in-state tuition for illegal immigrants. The latest of these hard cases involves the former Washington Post reporter Jose Antonio Vargas, who revealed he was an illegal immigrant in a new New York Times...

(Exchange starts near 2:50 mark) Martin Bashir to Fmr. Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO): "To follow your logic, would you have then preferred the death of the president as opposed to bin Laden?" Tancredo responds: "Of course not, my God."

Like most people, I enjoy a good joke. But Donald Trump for president? With apologies to Karl Rove, it's not really that funny. The Trump candidacy is not a joke; it's a scam. But its success with millions of voters shows us we are a nation very susceptible to scams if they are done on a grand enough scale...... In Donald Trump we have a liberal billionaire with a long record of supporting Democratic candidates who is willing to spend unlimited amounts of money to reinvent himself as a populist conservative. Ordinarily, that would be an impossible, even laughable undertaking....

Tom Tancredo or Allen west, for 2012, only two choices that will save our republic.

At their new political high-water mark, Republicans have plenty of reasons to celebrate - and at least one large cause for worry. On Election Day, voters shattered the Obama agenda of expanded public benefits and increased income tax progressivity, leaving the president to reassemble his goals with glue and tape. During this midterm cycle, Republicans became reacquainted with estranged friends: independents, seniors, college-educated voters, working-class voters, rural voters and suburban voters. The Republican Party will benefit from the infusion of diverse, attractive new leaders, including some, such as Florida Sen.-elect Marco Rubio, with Tea Party pedigrees.

While the conservative resurgence throughout the nation in yesterday’s election looks promising for Americans who are desperately reaching for the brake pedal to stop Obama’s out-of-control side-skid to the left, Colorado Democrats continue to hold on to considerable power. Given a refreshingly real choice between conservative secure-borders candidate Tom Tancredo and radical leftist Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, the voters chose the option that will ensure Colorado remains an open-borders, sanctuary state for illegal aliens. The Looper, as he is called by some conservatives, won fair and square – in pretty much a landslide. The invasion continues. For Michelle Malkin’s pre-election...
