@RepThomasMassie Yesterday Congress passed a resolution (354 to 53) that claims Iran possesses all it needs for a nuclear weapon. The same resolution says the U.S. should “use all means necessary to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.” Seems like a call for war on Iran. I voted No. @RepThomasMassie We should remember the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution which midwifed the disastrous Vietnam War. Yesterday’s Congressional Iran Resolution is eerily reminiscent of that resolution as well as the claims of WMDs that were used justify the second Gulf War.

@RepThomasMassie This baseless smear is meant to intimidate me into voting to send $14+ billion of your money to a foreign country. Please let AIPAC know we are broke, and these tactics don’t work on this Congressman. @AIPAC Charges of dual loyalty are antisemitic and insult millions of patriotic Americans who stand by Israel. The U.S. is stronger when Israel is secure. No misrepresentation, your vote says it all: NO to standing with Israel NO to condemning Hamas NO to helping Israel win this war

The House of Representatives voted to kill a resolution to censure progressive Rep. Rashida Tlaib, R-Mich., on Wednesday night. Nearly two dozen Republicans voted along with all House Democrats to table the resolution in a final vote of 222 to 186 in favor of killing the motion without debate. Democrats briefly broke out into applause when the resolution failed.

House lawmakers voted Wednesday to torpedo a resolution censuring Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) for her harsh criticisms of Israel in the wake of Hamas’s deadly attacks last month. The effort required 23 Republicans, joined by all Democrats, to vote in favor of a procedural motion that blocked the disciplinary resolution from reaching the floor. The final tally was 222 to 186. The vote was something of a surprise: Tlaib, a staunch liberal who’s been harshly critical of Israel, has few fans in the GOP when it comes to Middle Eastern politics. It’s unclear why several Republicans came to her rescue...

@RepThomasMassie AIPAC always gets mad when I put America first. I won’t be voting for their $14+ billion shakedown of American taxpayers either. Let them know what you think by replying to their post. They are intentionally misrepresenting my intent and the resolution I voted against. RE: @AIPAC Instead of standing with Israel, @RepThomasMassie voted with @AOC, @RashidaTlaib, @Ilhan,@JamaalBowmanNY and @SummerForPA

When Rep. Mike Johnson was elected speaker, he said that the House was getting right to work Wednesday afternoon. The first item on the agenda was to vote on a resolution to show support to Israel. Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky was the only Republican to vote against it. Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Cori Bush (D-MO), Al Green (D-TX), Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Andre Carson (D-IN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Summer Lee (D-PA), Delia Ramirez (D-IL) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) voted against the bill. Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), Joaquin Castro (D-TX), Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), Greg Casar (D-TX), Chuy Garcia...

The US House of Representatives on Wednesday overwhelmingly approved a resolution expressing support for Israel in its war against Hamas. The resolution, titled “Standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists”, passed by a majority of 412 to 10. Nine of the ten “no” votes were by Democrats: Reps. Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, Andre Carson, Al Green, Summer Lee, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Delia Ramirez and Rashida Tlaib. The lone Republican no vote was from Rep. Thomas Massie. The resolution states that the House of Representatives “stands with Israel as it...

Earlier this month, House Democrats sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, urging sanctions relief for Iran. Among other things, they criticized "the designation of Iran's Central Bank under terror authorities," arguing that "the efficacy of sanctions is questionable." An organization long described as a front group for the Iran regime sponsored the letter and has embedded staffers with many of the letter's supporters in Congress, including Reps. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.). “Is Iran’s regime quietly infiltrating Congress?” M. Hanif Jazayeri, news editor at Free Iran, asked on Twitter. He pointed out that...

@RepThomasMassie I condemn the barbaric attack on Israel and I affirm Israel’s right to defend itself. However, I will not be voting for House Resolution 771 today because: 1) It calls for sanctions on a sovereign country. Sanctions are a prelude to war and hurt the citizens of the country more than the government of the country that’s being sanctioned. And ultimately, sanctions create laws that will be used to prosecute American citizens (who engage in trade), not citizens of the sanctioned country. In short, sanctions do not achieve their stated purposes but do breed resentment of our country abroad....

Twenty Republicans voted with Democrats to kill motion to censure Adam Schiff.
-
On Tuesday, Rep. Luna announced that the House would vote to censure and fine Rep. Schiff on Thursday morning. According to the office of House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.), a procedural vote on the measure is scheduled for Wednesday. The vote will be at 2:30 PM EST. Any Republican who doesn’t vote for the resolution is exposing their real colors as members of the Deep State. Luna argues that his behavior represents a betrayal of public trust and undermines the integrity of the legislative process. “Representative Schiff exploited his position on HPSCI (House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence) to...

The goal, according to senior outside advisors, ought to be returning the DOJ and FBI to a more limited “pre-9/11” mission. DeSantis has assembled a brain trust of academics, members of Congress, and former administration officials to draw up step-by-step blueprints for tearing the DOJ and FBI down to the studs for a rebuild. He consults frequently with Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Chip Roy of Texas, conservatives always at war with government bureaucracy and openly hostile to federal power. Steven Bradbury of the Heritage Foundation and Victor Davis Hanson of the Hoover Institution have also joined the working...

The deal to raise the debt ceiling for two years to the tune of $4 trillion while minimally cutting spending passed the House, thanks to the Democratic Party support. More Democrats voted for the compromise than Republicans did, which we all saw coming, given the vocal opposition from the party's conservative wing. Even more damning were the allegations that the $4 trillion increase wasn’t a Democratic Party pitch but Speaker Kevin McCarthy's (R-CA) proposal. Yet, even on the Republican side of the aisle, you had staunch conservatives disagreeing. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), one of the most prominent spending hawks, voiced...

A House-approved bill that the president supports would expand the draconian penalties he supposedly wants to abolish. When he ran for president in 2020, Joe Biden repudiated his long history of pushing harsh penalties for nonviolent drug offenses, calling for the abolition of mandatory minimum sentences. "Biden supports an end to mandatory minimums," his campaign said. "As president, he will work for the passage of legislation to repeal mandatory minimums at the federal level." But by endorsing a bill aimed at cracking down on fentanyl analogs, Biden is doing exactly the opposite. The HALT Fentanyl Act, which the Republican-controlled House of...

Former President Donald Trump is backed by 70 percent of Kentucky Republicans in his quest for the Republican presidential nomination, according to an Emerson College/Fox 56 Lexington poll. The poll published Sunday shows that 70 percent of “very likely” GOP primary voters in Kentucky say they support Trump for the nomination, giving him a 56-point advantage over his nearest potential competitor, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who is at 14 percent. Trump’s edge has grown by a net 17 points in just one month, as April’s Emerson College/Fox 56 Lexington poll out of Kentucky showed him leading DeSantis 62 percent to 23...

Congressman Thomas Massie (R-Agribusiness) is waging jihad against his fellow Republicans in the House over H.R. 2, an immigration bill that has been working through the House since January. He has specifically targeted the E-Verify provision, that would require employers to use the system, which has been in place for decades, to verify that their employees are legally allowed to work in the country. He has been on Twitter railing against the E-Verify system. There are two schools of thought as to why Massie has picked out this provision of the bill as his reason for opposing it. One is...

@RepThomasMassie I will NOT vote to require EVERY American to get Biden’s permission if they want to work. Specifically, I’m opposed to E-verify. Giving the federal government more power over YOU is a mistake in my opinion. I support border security, but not E-verify.
