Something of much greater concern than the tedious YouTube fiasco wound up coming to the fore as a result of one of GloZell Green’s questions for our president. Green (who, like too many black people, also happens to be irrevocably indoctrinated into leftist racial orthodoxy) asked Obama what could be done to prevent violence by white police officers against black males, such as in incidents last year in Ferguson, Missouri, and New York City.

On January 15, 2014, the Congress approved H.R. 3547 – the “Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2014,” which is now awaiting the President’s signature. The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2014 seemingly removes key protections for the Firearms Industry. For those unfamiliar, I previously wrote about the last appropriations bill, HR 2112, the “Fiscal Year 2012 Agriculture, Commerce/Justice/Science (CJS) and Transportation/Housing/Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations bills,” in my article ATF Appropriations Bill – New Limitations, Including on the Importability of Shotguns!. While a copy of the prior appropriation bill can be found in that article, since it is important for purposes of this...

Diplomacy: After a reprieve from international regulation of our guns, another sovereignty-grabbing U.N. treaty, a pet project of our secretary of state, is still being pushed to declare the oceans the common heritage of mankind. In the pre-dawn hours last Saturday, the U.S. Senate approved by 53-46 a measure "to uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty." But a seemingly harmless cousin, the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST), remains on the table, with its champion, former Sen. John Kerry, now our secretary of state. Kerry gave a speech...

In an address to the United Nations General Assembly today, President Barack Obama dedicated several long passages to discussing and condemning what the New York Times has described as a 14-minute "amateurish video" that a 55-year-old Southern California man posted on YouTube in June. Obama also told the United Nations that with modern technology efforts to control the flow of information have become “obsolete.” The Obama administration had originally suggested that the video in question—which the New York Times said was a trailer for a movie entitled “The Innocence of Muslims”—may have been responsible for inspiring a mob to attack...

So far, during the presidency of Barack Obama, the price of a gallon of gasoline has jumped 83 percent, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. (AP Photo) During the same period, the price of ground beef has gone up 24 percent and price of bacon has gone up 22 percent. When Obama entered the White House in January 2009, the city average price for one gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $1.79, according to the BLS. (The figures are in nominal dollars: not adjusted for inflation.) Five months later in June, unleaded gasoline was $2.26 per gallon,...

Ahead of the CBS News/National Journal Republican presidential debate on national security and foreign policy taking place on Saturday night in South Carolina, CBS News surveyed Americans to find out their views on Iran, China, Israel, North Korea and other countries; their feelings about whether the Afghanistan and Iraq wars have been worth the cost; and which of the Republican candidates are most ready to serve as commander-in-chief and to handle an international crisis. Here are highlights from the poll: More than three in four Americans - 77 percent - approve of Mr. Obama's decision to withdraw U.S. troops from...

WASHINGTON -- President Obama is barnstorming the heartland to boost US jobs in a taxpayer-financed luxury bus the government had custom built -- in Canada, The Post has learned. The $1.1 million vehicle, one of two that Quebec-based Prevost sold the government, has been tricked out by the Secret Service with state-of-the-art security features and creature comforts. It's a VIP H3-45 model, the company's top of the line, and is used by major traveling rock bands. "That's the more luxurious model," Christine Garant of Prevost told The Post.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry's (R) suggestion Monday in Iowa that it would be "treasonous" for the Federal Reserve to engage in more quantitative easing turned heads and raised questions about the limits to Perry's folksiness on the campaign trail. Perry suggested yesterday on the campaign trail that Ben Bernanke, the Fed chairman, would find himself in a "pretty ugly" situation in Texas if he were to authorize another round of quantitative easing, a method of pumping more money into the economy by essentially creating more money. “If this guy prints more money between now and the election,” Perry said at...

** Did Perry go too far? A day after appearing to outshine Michele Bachmann on her home turf in Waterloo, albeit with some tough rhetoric aimed at President Obama, Rick Perry might have gone a bit too far in criticizing Obama and even the Federal Reserve while campaigning in Iowa yesterday. For Texans, this is typical Perry. But for Americans who do not know him, it's eyebrow-raising rhetoric. In fact, he sounded more like Trump or Gingrich. "I think the greatest threat to our country right now is this president trying to spend his way out of this debt," Perry...

The politicization of monetary policy being taken to a brand new level. ThinkProgress reports: Speaking just now in Iowa, Perry said, “If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I dunno what y’all would do to him in Iowa but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas. Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in history is almost treasonous in my opinion.” Treason is a capital offense. The remark appeared to be in response to a question from an attendee at the event, but it does not seem to be off the

During a stop tonight at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Texas Gov. Rick Perry fired a warning shot at the Obama Administration and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke. Perry was asked to comment on “the Fed,” and while he said he didn’t really want to take on the Fed question right now, he did have some blunt comments about the rumored possibility of the Federal Reserve printing a lot more money between now and November 2012 to make the economy appear better than it really is. Perry said: “If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I dunno what...

Among pundits on the right, there has been disagreement for quite some time over the fundamental motives informing President Obama's agenda. Essentially two schools of thought on the matter have emerged. One school insists that while the president's policy prescriptions are indeed ultimately destructive, he nevertheless genuinely believes that their implementation is what's best for the country. This is the position taken by the likes of, say, Bill O'Reilly and nationally syndicated radio talk show host Michael Medved. Members of the other school are convinced that Obama is resolved to weaken America. Only a determination on his part to diminish...

At today's CPAC conference, Idaho's Raul Labrador decided to lighten the mood with a joke or two. They say knowing one's audience is the mark of a good comedian so, judging from the applause he garnered for his "birther" joke, we think Labrador might have a bright future in improv. Originally from Puerto Rico, Labrador joked that, yes, he is an American citizen by birth and he even has the birth ......posted using frpa

In the aftermath of the attempted murder of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords earlier this month, lawmakers on Capitol Hill have proposed a cluster of gun control measures ranging from a ban to knowingly carrying a firearm within 1,000 feet of certain high-profile government officials to a proposal to allow members of Congress to carry firearms in the U.S. Capitol. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy formally introduced her own bill on the House floor Tuesday that would ban high-capacity ammunition clips like the one Jared Loughner used to gun down 19 individuals in the Tucson shooting Jan. 8. McCarthy, who is regarded as one...

Pelosi says 'no regrets' on last day as speakerBy STEPHEN OHLEMACHER Associated Press Updated: Jan 04, 2011 12:34 PM EST WASHINGTON (AP) - Democrat Nancy Pelosi says she has no regrets on her last day as House speaker, a reign that last four years and is ending after the November elections. Pelosi said Tuesday she looks forward to leading a loyal but tenacious opposition in the House. She started by calling Republicans hypocrites for trying to repeal the new health care law, which would increase the deficit. Republican John Boehner of Ohio will be sworn in as the new speaker...

Surely with so many terror plots developing around the world in recent days, it's understandable that someone might miss one, right? Well, for ordinary Americans, sure -- but you're held to a different standard if you're the head of U.S. intelligence. That's why U.S. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper is having a very bad day Wednesday. Clapper appeared to draw a blank when ABC's Diane Sawyer asked him about the arrests hours earlier of 12 men accused of plotting an al-Qaida-type attack in London. What, Me Worry? YOU BETCHA!

Apparently the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton's State Department consider our republican form of government a human rights deficiency. As Carol Taber wrote, "Last week, the Obama State Department submitted a report to the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights on the supposed human rights violations taking place in the United States." Michelle Malkin does her usual great job as well blasting the report. Arizona's immigration enforcement law, S.B. 1070, is referenced in the report's ugly circumstances: "A recent Arizona law, S.B. 1070, has generated significant attention and debate at home and around the world.
