New York Times ^ | JAN. 25, 2017 | By MAX FISHER
WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is preparing executive orders that would clear the way to drastically reduce the United States’ role in the United Nations and other international organizations, as well as begin a process to review and potentially abrogate certain forms of multilateral treaties, officials said. The first of the two draft orders, titled “Auditing and Reducing U.S. Funding of International Organizations” and obtained by The New York Times, calls for terminating funding for any United Nations agency or other international body that meets any one of several criteria.

Saturday night at the GOP debate in New Hampshire belonged to the executives: the governors and the businessman.

Indeed, if Saturday is any indication of what kind of debater Donald Trump can be, then it's safe to say that it really was a mistake for him to skip the Fox News debate before the Iowa caucus. He may very have won it if he had shown this kind of strength and adeptness just days before Iowans went out to vote.

  • Donald Trump: I could ‘shoot somebody’ and still have support (audience laughing and clapping)

"They say I have the most loyal people - did you ever see that? - where I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters," Trump said, illustrating his point by pulling his fingers into a gun shape. "Okay? It's like incredible." The crowd laughed and clapped, and someone in the audience shouted out love for the candidate. "We love you, too, man," Trump said. Trump's comment came during a campaign rally Saturday at Dordt College in northwest Iowa. The 1,500-seat theater completely filled, hundreds more watched his speech from an...

National Review's publication of the collective anti-Donald Trump missives from 22 self-appointed conservative potentates has caused quite a stir in Republican circles. The nationwide responses range from, "Wait, I thought National Review went out of business years ago," to "Ed Meese? Seriously?" The Gang of 22 have officially become parodies of themselves. One would have to reach back to the days of Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew to lift an adequate quote to describe them. "Nattering nabobs of negativism," "vicars of vacillation," "pusillanimous pussyfooters," "the decadent few," "ideological eunuchs," "the effete corps of impudent snobs," or "the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs...
  • Would Donald Trump Be a Pro-Abortion President?

    The Weekly Standard ^ | January 17, 2016 | John McCormack
When Ben Carson was rising in the polls, Donald Trump was quick to attack the former neurosurgeon for being "pro-abortion not so long ago." The attack was more than a bit hypocritical because Trump himself was "very" pro-abortion not so long ago. In 1999, Tim Russert asked Trump if he would support a ban on "abortion in the third-trimester" or "partial-birth abortion." "No," Trump replied. "I am pro-choice in every respect." Trump explained his views may be the result of his "New York background." Now that Ted Cruz has attacked Trump's "New York values," Trump's views on abortion will be...

  • Bob Dole Warns of ‘Cataclysmic’ Losses With Ted Cruz, and Says Donald Trump Would Do Better

Bob Dole, the former Kansas senator and 1996 Republican presidential nominee, has never been fond of Senator Ted Cruz of Texas. But in an interview Wednesday, Mr. Dole said that the party would suffer "cataclysmic" and "wholesale losses" if Mr. Cruz was the nominee, and that Donald J. Trump would fare better. "I question his allegiance to the party,” Mr. Dole said of Mr. Cruz. "I don't know how often you've heard him say the word ‘Republican’ — not very often." Instead, Mr. Cruz uses the word "conservative," Mr. Dole said, before offering up a different word for Mr. Cruz:...
  • Donald Trump Just Received The BEST NEWS POSSIBLE! He Didn’t Even Expect THIS!

As the Republican candidates prepare for tonight's GOP debate on Fox Business... conservative GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump just received news so extraordinary that he didn't even expect it! According to a bombshell report by the Washington Post, not only is Trumps lead among Republicans at historic levels, but his national lead is TWO TIMES BIGGER THAN HILLARY CLINTON'S! This announcement of polling data destroys the arguments made by the political establishment that Trump isn't electable in a general election. There is no candidate in either party that has this sort of massive appeal among likely voters: National polling doesn't...
  • CR Editors: Trump’s Questionable Political History

It is hard not to feel protective over Donald Trump while the political classes are seething and scornful. They are unacquainted with such powerlessness. Control was never supposed to stray this far from their grasp. And their rage, manifested in every hapless attack on Trump and his supporters, actually seems to be improving the likelihood of that outcome they fear most of all. How tempting, under these circumstances, to rush to his defense, as so many in the conservative movement have already done. The Donald has boldly made himself a standard bearer of unpopular (…within the political bubble), yet critical...

Republicans appear more interested in having a "strong" and "bold" leader than a "true conservative." According to the poll, Trump wins strong and bold hands down, while Cruz is seen as the true conservative. Rubio wins the title of "typical politician" and "establishment candidate" in YouGov's test of candidate descriptions.

WASHINGTON— Donald Trump stepped up his attack on Sen Ted Cruz’s eligibility to run for president Wednesday calling for Cruz to drop out of the race. Donald J Trump @realDonaldTrump"Sadly, there is no way that Ted Cruz can continue running in the Republican Primary unless he can erase doubt on eligibility. Dems will sue!" Trump recently warned the GOP that if Cruz becomes the nominee ,the party would be risking the White House. Trump claims Democrats would hold up the election in court, litigating whether or not Cruz is considered a natural born citizen.Trump’s views on Cruz’s eligibility have changed...

Even though it's a stance not especially popular with some Republicans, Donald Trump continued to support eminent domain in an interview on Tuesday, calling it "a wonderful thing" that has unfairly received a bad rap.Trump, a billionaire known for his major real estate development projects, described eminent domain as a useful tool that local governments can use to prevent greedy homeowners from derailing major projects that could create thousands of jobs or provide a public good. Trump said that some conservatives don't fully understand how eminent domain works and don't realize that homeowners are usually paid "four, five, six, ten...
