Marlene Tersigni, executive director of the pro-life nonprofit, said the crime made volunteers and staff feel less safe, but they will not give up their mission to protect life. “To be honest, it galvanizes us,” Tersigni told the newspaper. “I can tell you, whenever something like this happens our donations...

Jesse Daniels, 53, is accused of endangering the welfare of children for the actions he took after catching four boys in the act of vandalizing his father-in-law’s home over the weekend. With extensive damage done to the inside of the house, Daniels and his wife called 911 — and he went inside of the residence to confront the boys. On July 24, the secular press in Britain crackled with news that the Jewish community had been aware of for several weeks: At the end of June, a British senior justice, Judge George Bathurst-Norman, virtually instructed a jury to acquit seven protesters who had broken into and vandalized a Brighton factory, even though there was no question they were the culprits. The damage, committed in January 2009, forced the factory, EDO MBM, to shut down for a week and caused about £200,000 (almost $314,000) in damage. But at trial the defendants denied they were guilty of any crime. They argued...

HERNANDO - Water continues to close in on homes in the Arrowhead neighborhood like a noose. It has already swallowed several. Dead fish float in a brown soup that overpowers the nostrils with sulfureous and sewage smells. "Everything imaginable is going on," said Mark Haggard, a Citrus County Sheriff's Office Community Affairs volunteer, who guards a neighborhood checkpoint that limits access to residents and emergency workers. Stress builds among the stubborn who refuse to abandon their...
