This will make your blood boil. Federal employees with the Park Service brag about how they swindled two World War II veterans off the land for pennies on the dollar. Federal employees revel in the fact that they swindle land from private property owners at pennies on the dollar, in astonishing admissions captured in a recently released video. “We went out to the mine and the owners were two little guys that had been in the Second World War,†a California park service employee recalls at a retirement celebration for Mojave National Preserve Superintendent Mary Martin in 2005. The employee...

During an appearance on "Fox & Friends" Sunday morning, Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump was asked what his New Year's resolution is for 2016. "The big picture is to make America great again," Trump said, "but we have to help the veterans. Veterans are being treated horribly." Watch Video here...

The holiday season seems to go on forever, only to finally extinguish itself in a brilliant blaze of football and parades on New Year’s Day. It is an endless litany of Christmas music and movies, a bustling, shopping mania. The season practically drowns in the myriad of commercials, advertising everything material one can purchase. It’s a season of family time and families making plans to go here or there and everywhere. It is a frenetic period of apparent jovial distractions from life’s endless responsibilities. To a vet, the holiday season is something else entirely. Is Christmas ever the same again,...

Donald Trump made a promise and he delivered. In October, the Republican presidential candidate made a commitment to U.S. Army First Sgt. Todd Landen (Ret.) very, very personal. In front of a large crowd at a Sioux City, Iowa, event, he promised the wounded veteran and his family that he would get action to end the runaround Landen was getting from the Veterans Administration. "I am going to put pressure on the VA like you won't believe," Trump said then. "As president, I can guarantee it. As Trump I can say, 'I'll probably be able to pull it off anyway.'"...

We have been asked to provide the Veteran’s Perspective on the topic of “stolen valor†… well, it is a diversion from the issue of Radical Islamic Terrorism and frankly a good way to help us all head into the Thanksgiving holiday on the proper note. Here goes … Must Be a Sad Illness – To those of us who have served in combat and must deal with the “blessings†and the “burdens†that come with that service it is completely inconceivable that somebody would want to lie about having been to combat. We know firsthand that in reality there...

This week the Senate passed the Century Veterans Benefits Delivery Act (S 1203), granting “honorary†veteran status to about 200,000 Reserve and National Guard retirees. Those particular members have not served the necessary qualifying period of active service, 24 Months, to be entitled to veteran benefits. The house will pass a similar measure, The Honor America’s Guard-Reserve Retirees Act (HR 1384), also a standalone bill to grant Reserve and Guard retirees veteran status. This will allow the weekend warriors who weren’t called to active duty to receive veteran benefits. The 200,000 who never served 24 months on active duty will...

First, we must express our sincere gratitude and respect for all those Veterans who carried the Flag before us, all those who served on our left and on our right and all those who picked up the Flag and moved forward after us. No matter where, when or in what role, your service is appreciated and recognized. And, Happy Birthday to the USMC – Semper Fidelis! As the first Veterans’ Day to be discussed from the Veterans’ Perspective, we must address one of the most important topics to be share with the civilian community. A Tragic Myth of PTSD –...

These days our men and women in uniform are usually treated with kindness and respect. Nobody begrudges someone in uniform getting to board a flight first, or getting comped a first-class seat. Even those on the left who think that people in military service are misguided dupes of evil militarists no longer indulge the open scorn and calumny prevalent in the Vietnam War era, when a uniform was a target for spittle and charges of “baby-killer,†when in 1971 John Kerry appeared before the Senate and accused U.S. troops of rape, torture, and mutilation. Yet under the surface of progressives’...

Here’s an excerpt from the AVC program, describing the actions of Woody Williams — then a young Marine from West Virginia, trained in demolition and the use of flame-throwers — as the Marines fought to take Mount Suribachi, where, as immortalized in the Marine Corps War Memorial, [4] they would raise the Stars and Stripes: Not far from the mountain base, several American tanks advanced slowly through the black volcanic sands. Suddenly, they hit a network of reinforced concrete pillboxes and buried mines. They were trapped in the kill zone. Behind the tanks was the young Marine corporal, Woody Williams....

We received considerable feedback on our article last week about Walmart’s Project Greenlight. To be clear, nobody is suggesting that Walmart should be boycotted, we do not believe Veterans should be “offended†by people putting up green lights and we are not questioning the fact that Walmart does give a considerable amount of money for Veteran issues. However, unfortunately, the problem of Veteran Unemployment will not be resolved by re-branding the yellow ribbon campaign or by coining a new phrase such as “greenlighting.†So, today’s article we will dive a little deeper into the issues affecting Veteran Employment. The Reality...

As Veterans’ Day approaches, it is important for those who have never served to take a moment to understand the solitary world of a vet. Millions of vets are and have been successful in all endeavors and professions. They are doctors, lawyers, business people and a thousand other professions. Not all have PTSD; not all are the troubled, brooding, street corner homeless guy, although they exist and need help desperately. No matter how successful a vet might be materially, more often than not, vets are often alone, mentally and spiritually each day and for the rest of their lives. Vets’...

Within the veteran community, there are over 1.8 million women. [WARNING: The video below contains profanity. Viewer discretion advised.](VIDEO-AT-LINK) RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — A Riviera Beach police officer was videotaped confronting a disabled veteran for not looking "handicap" for parking in a disabled parking space. U.S. Army combat veteran Isiah James, who has served nearly 10 years for our country, was absolutely shocked when a trip to a popular Riviera Beach drug store turned confrontational with the law. James says he was issued a disabled person parking permit, and it was properly displayed in his vehicle the entire time. During his deployment, James took fire and was hit with...
