PITTSBURGH — An IT outage is affecting online voter registration and mail-in ballot applications, along with several other services, in Pennsylvania. State officials said a “hardware issue” is affecting access to online services in multiple Pa. agencies, including the Department of State, revenue, human services and liquor control board. The issue started around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a release. Technicians identified the cause as an equipment failure at a data center managed for the commonwealth by Unisys and started recovery operations. Texas has smashed a new voter registration record with less than three weeks to go until the state's early-voting process begins. Since the last presidential election, Texas has added 1.5 million new voters, surpassing 16.6 million in total, according to the latest figures announced Tuesday by Texas Secretary of State Ruth R. Hughs. There are still two weeks before the state's Oct. 5 voter registration deadline. The state does not require voters to pick a party to register.

My relative in California has been registered for many years. She voted in 2018. She just checked, and her registration is deleted. And CA normally never deletes registrations. At least in CA, your registration includes party affiliation, which means they can selectively unregister Republicans. WASHINGTON — President Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee passed an enormous milestone this week — making contact with their 100 millionth voter through door knocking and phone banking. The RNC says it has knocked on the doors of 12 million potential voters in battleground states since mid-June — that’s around 1 million a week — while the Biden campaign has knocked on zero. The wildly different door-to-door strategies could make all the difference in races up and down the ballot in states like New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Michigan, which were won by razor-thin margins in 2016.
