The deposition of Canada’s prime minister is unlikely to be so sanguinary as the Ceaușescus in Romania. But it will be no less definitive. As I write, Canadian police, many dressed in military garb and supported by armored vehicles and snipers(!), are moving in to enforce several court orders and demands of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, and others that the “Freedom Convoy” of Canadian truckers stop blocking the Ambassador Bridge, the major artery between the United States and Canada, and disperse. Some of the protestors are leaving while many others are standing their ground. Will...

French police have squared off with thousands of protesters attempting to establish a Canadian-style convoy in Paris in response to the draconian coronavirus measures that Emmanuel Macron’s government has imposed upon the country. A little over a month after President Macron infamously announced that he wanted to “piss off” the unvaccinated people in France by introducing full-on vaccine passports in the country, over 3,000 vehicles have attempted to enter Paris to demand an end to the Covid regime. It is not clear at the time of writing how many vehicles of them actually made it into the city, as police...

House Democrats probably won’t answer President Trump’s prayers on impeachment, but Father Frank Pavone did. Father Pavone, a Roman Catholic who is national director of Priests for Life, responded Wednesday to the president’s call for prayers over his impeachment. “President Trump just asked for prayers!” he said on his Twitter account. “Let’s storm heaven against the evil that surrounds him. I pray he will have the courage to continue to fight for the Lives of the unborn!” Earlier, Mr. Trump began the day of his impeachment on Wednesday by asking the nation to pray. “Can you believe that I will...

House Republicans were scrambling Tuesday evening to hammer out an 11th-hour immigration deal that protects so-called Dreamers and averts a potentially damaging partisan fight on a highly divisive issue less than five months before the midterms elections. Leaders of the conservative Freedom Caucus said they were bringing to their members a new legislative offer from centrist Republicans, and that they would provide a response to GOP leadership by the end of the night.“I don’t have a deal in hand; I have a proposal in hand,” Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) said as he left the House floor to meet...

Senate Democrats know they may lose their last congressional tool to block legislation from the GOP-led Congress in November 2018, because they must defend 23 Seats seats while the GOP need only defend eight seats. That leaves many of the 23 Democratic Senators — and their leaders — with the difficult task of balancing party solidarity and personal political survival. Party leaders commonly give vulnerable senators leeway to buck their party going into an election year, but if the Democrats allow a third of their senators to freelance on critical votes during the next two years, they cease to function as a...

I enquired about getting tickets to the only debate between John Dingell and Dr. Rob Steele. This is the response I got: "Due to the huge demand for tickets the campaign has done a lottery to assign tickets. There were upwards of 1400 requests from donors, workers, and friends. Sorry for raising your hopes... There are none to be had. I had no idea of the demand." For a small auditorium that is a lot of people, the demand outstrips the supply. Something is going on, people are waking up, and want to see this. Maybe it will be history...

PoliticalFables has an excellent video out entitled "Defeating the Obama Machine." It includes various quotes from our favorite politicians and political players including George Soros, Nancy Pelosi, John Conyers, Maxine Waters, Andy Stern, and of course, Barack Obama. Many of the more well-known quotes including Rahm Emmanuel's famous comment regarding never letting a crisis go to waste and Pelosi's infamous line that ObamaCare had to be passed first before American's could learn what was in the bill are incorporated into the animated political fable.

"Whenever you have just the furthest left elements of the Dem party attempting to impose their will on the rest of the country -- that’s not going to work too well.”

Sixteen of the two dozen amendments the Senate will consider attaching to a revived immigration bill come from senators who helped derail the legislation earlier this month. A list of the proposed changes obtained by The Associated Press illustrates how key Republicans and Democrats plotting to revive the measure before the Fourth of July recess are trying to placate critics by holding votes to address their top concerns. The proposals range from bids to make it more difficult for illegal immigrants to gain legal status to attempts to give family members of U.S. citizens more opportunities to immigrate. The bipartisan...

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Delegates to the state Republican convention unleashed a rare chorus of boos and hisses at U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss on Saturday, as he spoke up for a bipartisan immigration reform package unveiled in Washington this week. Hear it for yourself by clicking here. Chambliss had just finished emphasizing his devotion to border security provisions contained in the measure, and brought up agriculture’s need for temporary, foreign workers. “We’ve got to face the fact that we’ve got to create a new, truly temporary worker program” — the boos started here, but Chambliss plowed on — “for that segment...

The White House took a critical step on Wednesday in its effort to get Congressional blessing for President Bush’s domestic eavesdropping program, but it ran into increasingly fierce resistance from leading Republicans over its plan to try terror suspects being held in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.

U.S. mayors meeting in New York Tuesday called for tougher laws to combat gun violence, saying they will have to lead the way. The New York Times reports the meeting was organized by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino. "It is time for national leadership in the war on gun violence, and if the leadership won't come from Congress or come from the White House, then it has to come from us," Bloomberg said. "When Congress does not take the lead on a major problem that affects the whole nation -- whether it's global warming, welfare,...

WASHINGTON - Putting aside party differences, Senate Republicans and Democrats coalesced Thursday around compromise legislation that holds out the hope of citizenship to an estimated 11 million immigrants living in the United States unlawfully. "We can no longer afford to delay reform," said Republican Sens. John McCain and Edward M. Kennedy in a statement that capped weeks of struggle to find common ground. STOCKTON - A day after he ruffled Democratic lawmakers by calling them "girlie men," Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger pressed ahead Sunday with another shopping mall attack but avoided repeating the reference. The Republican governor didn't soften his theme otherwise, nor shy away from plucking famous lines from his movies to thrill the crowd, as he urged thousands of fans jammed into a food court to unseat Democratic legislators in November if they do not agree to his version of a state spending plan, now 19 days late. "I am going to make you officially right now the terminators," Schwarzenegger said. "If...
