President Obama was not bothered by my f-bomb, Vice President Biden says DAILY NEWS STAFF Thursday, March 25th 2010, 4:00 AM Vice President Biden says his boss wasn't bothered in the least by his stage whisper at the health care bill signing ceremony that it was "a big f---ing deal." At a Baltimore fund-raiser last night, Biden said President Obama brought up his faux pas at a White House morning briefing and remarked: "You know what the best thing about yesterday was? Joe's comment."

By now everyone in San Diego has surely heard of Joe Biden's well-publicized remark to President Obama after the U.S. House of Representatives passed HR 3962, The Affordable Health Care for America Act, when Biden turned to embrace Barack and said "This is a big (expletive) deal!" Joe Biden, known for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, is also known as a practicing Catholic - recently seen with a smudge of ash on his forehead from Ash Wednesday. So far Joe Biden, the cussing Catholic, has yet to apologize to the American people, or, as far as we...

US Vice-President Joe Biden has let rip another of his legendary gaffes at a crucial moment for the Obama administration, whispering a profanity to the President right before Obama signed his $940 billion health care overhaul into law. After introducing Obama at the White House signing ceremony, the two men pulled close in an embrace and Biden could be heard whispering “This is a big f--king deal” to his boss. According to a blog on the Wall Street Journal, a T-shirt featuring the exclamation was available just hours later. "Yes Mr Vice-President, you're right..." White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs...

WASHINGTON -- The White House is raising the stakes with Israel, calling it an "insult" and an "affront" that the Jewish nation would continue plans to build 1,600 new apartments during a construction freeze aimed at re-igniting peace talks with Palestinians. Palestinians have not sought as part of their capital the area of northeast Jerusalem where the Jewish settlement of Ramat Shlomo resides, but the decision to announce construction plans just as Vice President Joe Biden was visiting the region led to strained meetings that continues past his return. Biden expressed his displeasure by showing up late to a dinner...

Union Influence: The White House picks its most frequent visitor to sit on its deficit commission. He believes in big government, in big spending, and that the workers of the world should unite. What could go wrong? Computer security firms have been known to hire the best former hackers because they know best how to stop others like them. But the appointment of Andy Stern, president of the Service Employee International Union (SEIU), to a bipartisan commission to come up with ways to deal with the rapidly rising federal budget deficit is like having a serial arsonist organize Fire Prevention...

The Obama administration will move ahead with Senate ratification of a treaty banning nuclear tests that was voted down by Republicans more than a decade ago, Vice President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. said Thursday. In a speech setting out the administration's arms-control agenda, Mr. Biden also said the United States will continue to pursue President Obama's call for the elimination of all U.S. nuclear arms, but defended spending $7 billion in the coming year to repair an aging arsenal.

Sky News presenter Kay Burley was forced to make an on-air apology today after mistaking a tribute to Ash Wednesday on American vice president Joe Biden’s forehead for a ‘large bruise’. The controversial Miss Burley, 49, made the comments during a conversation with the news channel’s U.S. correspondent, Greg Milam. When made aware of her ignorance during a commercial break, Miss Burley then compounded her insulting words by saying: ‘I’ve said three Hail Marys, everything is going to be fine.’

A mentally ill man with a homemade security pass was able to get within metres of U.S. Vice President during a security breach at the Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, CTV News has learned. As dozens of police held back thousands of protestors outside of BC Place in Vancouver, a 48-year-old British Columbia man slipped past several layers of security inside the venue, said RCMP Assistant Commissioner Bud Mercer, the head of the 2010 Integrated Security Unit (ISU). Mercer said the man's target was clear. "He had an infatuation with the US Vice President." Biden was seated...

February 17, 2010 Biden's Forehead Shows Ash Wednesday Mark [Pic in URL] Posted by Brian Montopoli (AP)Vice President Joe Biden appeared at an event marking the one-year anniversary of the economic stimulus package today with a noticeable black smidge on his forehead. For many the mark was immediately recognizable as the ashes given to Catholics on Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Biden, America's first Catholic vice president, also received ashes, which are meant to symbolize repentance and serve as a reminder of human mortality, last year. On Wednesday morning, President Obama issued a statement commemorating Ash Wednesday, saying...

Politics: A battle ensues between one vice president who defended freedom well and another who sorely needs his boss's teleprompter. Biden accuses Cheney of rewriting history while claiming that Iraq is this administration's victory. Maybe Vice President Joe Biden should think about writing talking points on his hand as his rhetoric reaches levels of absurdity where no politician has gone before. After last weekend's round of competitive gabfests, one would expect to see a billboard of former Vice President Dick Cheney with a caption, "Miss me yet?" We do, sir, we do. After yeoman service helping President Bush fight the...

Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown took a swipe at Vice President Joe Biden today -- saying that President Obama's No. 2 was “off base” when he said the Republican get his facts straight when it comes to military tribunals and whether he is aware that terrorists have the right to a lawyer. “It was insulting,” Brown, a critic of Obama during his recent Senate campaign, told Politico.com. The comments came a day after Biden blasted Brown during an appearance on CBS's “Face the Nation" when he said he didn't “know whether the new senator from Massachusetts understands: When you get tried...

Sen. Scott Brown thinks Vice President Joe Biden was “off base” when he suggested Sunday that the Massachusetts Republican get his facts straight on the legal procedures for military tribunals. “It was insulting,” said Brown, who frequently jabbed the administration during his Senate campaign, for giving suspected terrorists legal representation. On CBS's “Face the Nation” last weekend, Biden shot back that he doesn’t “know whether the new senator from Massachusetts understands: When you get tried in a military tribunal, you get a lawyer too.” “He’s trying to give me a lesson on military law, and I didn’t think it was...

VANCOUVER — Two former Olympians were injured when the United States vice-president’s motorcade was involved in a three-car collision on Sunday near Vancouver, RCMP said Sunday. Joe Biden’s vehicle was not involved in the crash and he arrived at his destination safely, RCMP officials said in a news release. The vice-president was in British Columbia to watch U.S. athletes compete in the 2010 Olympics. U.S. media identified the injured women as Peggy Fleming, an ice skating gold medallist in 1968, and Vonetta Flowers, who won a gold medal in bobsledding in 2002. Both were taken to hospital and released later...

WASHINGTON — Vice President Joe Biden on today belittled Dick Cheney's criticism of the Obama administration's commitment to fighting terrorism as either "misinformed or he is misinforming" and said the Iraq war wasn't worth it because of "the horrible price" paid. The former vice president fired back gently at his successor, saying, "I guess I shouldn't be surprised by my friend Joe Biden." Cheney also said that he disagreed with decisions by Bush officials to place shoe bomber Richard Reid on trial in civilian court and to release terrorism suspects from the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The...

Vancouver, British Columbia (CNN) -- Two members of the U.S. Olympic delegation -- both gold medalists from previous Olympics -- suffered minor injuries Sunday in an accident as they were traveling in Vice President Joe Biden's motorcade, the White House said. Peggy Fleming and Vonetta Flowers were taken to a hospital "as a precaution" after a van in the motorcade was involved in a minor accident, according to Biden spokesman Jay Carney. Both were later released from the hospital. Neither Biden nor anyone else in the motorcade was involved in the incident, Carney said.
