A new report estimated the US government could raise $48 billion a year by taxing remote work. But is making remote work more expensive a good idea? ==================================================================== ver since the beginning of the pandemic, working from home is the new normal. In 2018, just 5.4 percent of the US's working population worked remotely. By mid-2020, it had turned into reality for 56 percent of the workforce. While not all workers forced to stay home were quick to welcome the change, many learned to enjoy it over time. With state governments beginning another round of lockdowns, it isn’t shocking to...

Employees, which include over 9,000 in San Francisco, were previously allowed to work remotely until the end of 2020. Salesforce joins other tech giants like Facebook, Google and Uber, which all extended working from home until the end of June as the coronavirus pandemic rages on. The company occupies three towers in San Francisco’s Transbay district, including the city’s tallest building, Salesforce Tower. Downtown merchants worry that the prolonged absence of office workers will cripple the local economy, and many stores and restaurants in the area remain shut. Salesforce will offer an additional $250 for office supplies to each worker,...

Billionaire bond investor Jeffrey Gundlach, the CEO of $135 billion DoubleLine Capital, sees the potential for a "wave of more higher-end unemployment' hitting white-collar workers making more than $100,000 per year as employers increasingly question the value these employees bring. In 11 weeks, more than 42 million Americans filed for unemployment insurance as the COVID-19 pandemic wrecked the economy. The bulk of these job losses hit lower-income households the hardest. "A lot of times it's not the earthquake, it's the fire," Gundlach said on a webcast for the DoubleLine Total Return Bond Fund (DBLTX), later adding that he could "easily...

The only thing stopping many from working remotely until now was their bosses’ belief that working in an office is better for the bottom line. That belief is now being put to the test. The coronavirus outbreak is disrupting nearly every facet of American life. Many of these changes are temporary and will be forgotten as soon as the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic subsides — but not all.Changes rippling through daily life right now will present, for the first time, an alternative to the normal way of doing things, and some will be improvements. One bright spot in this medical...

I have been looking on a website that lists legit work from home jobs for extra income (or any income, for that matter). Today's list included a site that lists work for non-profits. It is alarming how many of these are jobs for people to organize and campaign for various leftist causes, including general anti-Trump and anti-Republican activities. I assume that the funding for these "jobs" come from sources like Soros, Heyer, and a host of rich celebrities and deep state types. To me, this is frightening. How do conservatives combat this organized effort to destroy our Republic?

Despite the media firestorm over her military travel abuses, Nancy Pelosi continued to use the United States Air Force as her own personal travel agency right up until her final days as House Speaker according to documents we uncovered from the Air Force. According to these new documents, which we obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Pelosi used Air Force aircraft for 43 flights from January 1 to October 1, 2010. By comparison, Nancy Pelosi logged 47 flights in the previous nine-month period, April 1, 2009, to January 1, 2010, according to previous documents we uncovered. So, in...

Sorry for the vanity here, but I am going to the best source for information that I can find.... My wife has received information for a company called Herbalife. It seems that by selling this stuff, she could make money. Do any of my fellow FReepers have any opinions of this company, what they sell, and how their process works?
