My handle, "algol", goes back decades to when I first started using computers. Multiple meanings -- it's the second brightest star in the constellation Perseus, it's a computer programming language (one of the first), and I often go by "Al". The star name derives from arabic -- "al ghoul", the ghoul, or demon star (actually I'm a pretty nice guy) the star is variable, an eclipsing binary.
